Michael ServetusNYAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5The best interlinear out there.March 1, 2012Michael ServetusNYAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5I checked out this work in a neighborhood Christian book store today. I was totally impressed, so much so that I have come here to look it up and purchase it. After I saw one negative review I had to write my own to add to the rest of positive reviews and make my own contribution.
First let me say what the first things I noticed about this work were and why they greatly impressed me. First as I do with any Christian reference work that I check out, I first go to familiar scripture passages to see how they translate or comment on them and offer anytyhing worth the purchase. One of my usual spots is John 1:1 another is Romans. John 1:1 is a test spot for me in any work that recommends itself as a reference tool and help. This work passes because it does something that no other interlinear I have seen does and that is translate the definite articles in front of theos, the word for God used in this verse. It is not a insignificant thing. It also makes clear what is in the actual greek and enable you to see faithfully what goes on in the translation process of that passage which is important for any Christian who wants to understand the word of God. Secondly of great help is the fact that the index in the back of the book is much more comprehensive thatn any other interlinear I have come across and I have looked at quite a few. This interlinear offers the best dictionary reference for the greek compared with other works of this kind. It beats the key word study bible by a long shot and all other interlinears even the good ones . I don't even look at my key word study bible because of its lack of comprehensiveness and word selection. Get this interlinear if you want to study the greek in the new testament and have the convenient use of a dictionary in the back that is much more complete and useable than any other withoput reference to other works.
RobertAge: 35-44Gender: male2 Stars Out Of 5Compilation of four greek textsMay 22, 2011RobertAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 2Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1This work is a compilation of four greek texts so many verses in the literal translation don't agree with either the NIV or KJV translations presented. Strong numbrer's are not used. Instead the publisher uses Mounce's Expository numbers. They do provide an index at the end of the text that includes most if not all the words. Acts 20:28 literal translation does not agree with the NIV or KJV but does agree with the New World Translation which is what the Jehovah Witnesses use. I looked up the number for the words "his own son" 2625 and compared to another verse where same number was used: John 7:18. The word "son" was niether included in the 2625 definition nor in Jn 7:18. This verse is critical because it speak of the diety of Christ which this author negates. He uses the Textus Receptus from Accordance Bible Software and claim he's not a textual critic and does not select the best version but includes a compilation and notes from the TR. He includes the TNIV, NET, UBS texts. I'm returning this and getting the straight TR interlinear.
PaladinLebec, CA.Age: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5An excellent study tool to study the Word of GOD.February 4, 2011PaladinLebec, CA.Age: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Probably the best New Testament study bible I have seen. With the Greek words, all defined and numbered as well as 2 translations side by side to compare the greek to .. AWESOME!! I wouldn't recomend it for general reading but, for a study Bible it can not be beat!
Jeffrey Grow5 Stars Out Of 5February 10, 2010Jeffrey GrowAfter 30 years of studying I have never had a better resource than this interlinear. It has revived my desire to go deeper into searching for a more understandable and meaningful message not just for myself but also those I may minister to. In more of an expository approach I have found it to drive my desire to pray and meditate upon scriptures in a greater way. What a treasure chest to me it has been in such a short period of time. The pages are not too thin and the binding seems to be of good quality. I am 64 years old without glasses and have no problem reading it with sufficient light at night.
