Series: Secret Keeper Girl
Bestselling author Dannah Gresh teams up with three of her closest friends to write a hilarious fiction series about what their lives would have been like had they collided in sixth grade.
Yuzi Ukachi has every right to be mad. Because of her dad's job, their family has moved all over the place, so it's always been tough to make friends. And now his job has landed Yuzi in quite possibly the smallest town on the planet: Marion, Ohiothe Popcorn Capital of the World.
Her mom volunteered her to wear a totally embarrassing corncob costume to the Popcorn Festival, and at school she ends up in detention for something she definitely did not do! When she opens up her heart to the three girls she meets in detention, she's invited into the Secret Keeper Girl Club. The club's adventures teach her that revenge isn't always the sweetest end to a story.
Dannah, Suzy Wiebel, Janet Mylin, and Chizuruoke (Chizzy) Anderson are four mothers with hearts to teach their daughters truth, but they aren't afraid of the crazy true stories of their own lives. Here they blend them into fictional comedy and action that 812-year-old readers will love.
CHIZURUOKE ANDERSON is a graduate of Nyack College. She is co-author of Yuzi¿s False Alarm with Dannah Gresh. She and her husband, David, live in State College, Pennsylvania.
Sister4 Stars Out Of 5January 8, 2009SisterI read this book to preview it for our girls' club library. The principles behind the story are much more profound than they appear in this simple, but well told, tale. Yuzi not only learns how to forgive, but she learns to not blame others (and that defending herself is not beneficial) even when she is innocent. These are truths taught in the writings of the early holy Fathers of the Christian faith, but rarely seen in modern Christianity.
