Bestselling author and every woman's best friend, Holley Gerth helps women lay down their unrealistic expectations so they can embrace who God created them to be, pursue his purpose for their lives, and offer the love they've been freely given.

This book is full of helpful and insightful information on dealing with perfectionism. While I found everything Holley said to be true and beneficial, I found the writing style to be a little slow and slightly boring. For this reason, I did not finish the book. I simply just don't have the time to struggle through something that I cannot keep my eyes open to read. Perhaps writing these helpful tips in a more energetic manner would have been better. This book also felt like it was geared towards someone in an older age range than my own 20 years. Not a bad book, but not a great one either. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
MIMomAge: 25-345 Stars Out Of 5focuses on God's grace instead of perfectionismMarch 30, 2015MIMomAge: 25-34Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I knew I would probably enjoy "You're Loved No Matter What" from the first chapter. After a quick quiz to test whether we feel pressured to be perfect, author and life coach Holly Gerth delves right in on why women give up the grace God so richly holds out to us and strive instead for perfectionism, an expectation many women battle (especially in this age of facebook and pinterest)! She points out that this is exactly what Satan tempted Eve with back in the garden of Eden, and we are still fearfully trying "to be like God" in unhealthy ways. Chapter by chapter, Gerth uses illustrations, analogies and simple, easy to apply advice to stress that we need to focus on the grace God extends, freeing us to live how He created us: focusing on the talents He has given us and where He has currently placed us in life, and not expecting us to be perfect by ourselves or in everything.
Though much of this information wasn't necessarily new, this book was yet another great, practical and Scripture-filled reminder to focus not on the pursuits and viewpoints of this chaotic world, but rather look at our lives the way that the Lord does; to this end, she gently and positively reminds the reader that we are always perfectly loved by a perfect God. It ends with a "Go Deeper Guide" with questions that can be answered individually, with an accountability friend or in small groups. Though it was a quick and easy read, I will definitely be reading through it again to better absorb it's advice and take notes.

So often I think of a question while reading and within a sentence or two, she answers my question - as if I asked aloud & she heard me. This book is no different.
It has been amazing to read during this Lent season as well, it has made the gift of sacrifice on Good Friday & Jesus' resurrection on Easter have so much meaning going into this week. Jesus loves each of us individually - NO MATTER what we have done (or not done) in life.
Too many of us are caught in a cycle of perfectionism and being paralyzed by the overwhelm to be perfect - even in ways we don't think we are, she brings you full circle to see how we really do things because we think we need to (calling it what it is - perfectionism). Holley walks with you hand-in-hand to help you see how this ISN'T how our Father wanted us to live, it is why He sent His son to die - for each of us. We are ALL loved already - NO MATTER what.

Well said Kelley!
I've just skimmed, because this book, your books seem so plain and simple; and then one word, or phrase, and there's that tug to visit that space a bit longer. So I'm circling over parts of this work for me. If I have more thoughts after the repeated fly-bys, I'll post an amendment to my Blog.
It walks the doubter of their lovability over the puddles that soak their feet in the lie that God's love is conditional.
But don't we all need to know, so we'll never forget, that we are loved, forever and always?
I hope this book reaches a Hillion people with this powerful and true word-you are loved no matter what!
MardellSpokane WAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5You're Loved No Matter What Is An InspirationMarch 21, 2015MardellSpokane WAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you are like me you work hard to be perfect in every way. Life can be a challenge and we women are busy trying to please our families, our friends, our coworkers and most everyone we come in contact with. I found a lot of encouragement in Holley's latest book You're Loved No Matter What; encouragement that makes me feel like I can forgive myself for not being perfect. It is just not how we were created to be. We are made to be loved unconditionally by God who forgives us as only He can as our heavenly Father. Don't we all need to know this is true? I can't count how many times I have said if only I worked harder, looked thinner or was better than I was last week my life would be perfect. If only my life were perfect I would achieve perfection all of the above wouldn't be a problem. The problem is forgetting that I am loved already for who I am not an unrealistic earthly goal. I have been reminding myself to ease up and remember that I am loved for myself since starting this book and I have to share that it has been an aha experience for me. Holley's book can be read straight through or in pieces to study. However you choose to read it, know that she is like having your good friend sitting across your table sharing a cup of coffee. Strategies and tips are available within the book that help you let go of perfection in different areas of your life. If you lead a women's study group there are discussion questions in the Go Deeper Guide at the back of the book for your group. p.s. If youve ever struggled with feeling like you need to be perfect, my friend Holley Gerths new book will encourage you. Youre Loved No Matter What: Freeing Your Heart from the Need to Be Perfect.
