Expecting this book to be a Christmas one, I was surprised about the Valentine theme. Not to be a spoiler but it's a bit of a no-brainer of guy meets gal, or the other way around and the outcome is certain. A neat secret admirer thread was fun to read.

I have only read the Christmas books by Ms. Carlson. Usually there is one person in the book who needs a good talking to. I enjoyed the one in this story. (: )

If you have a couple of hours to spare, grab a sofa corner or rocking chair, a cup of coffee, or tea, and enjoy this light read.

Found this to be a charming, nice light story - yet not boring. Very pleasant, and the daily details of the character blended seamlessly into the storyline.

    Loved the cover!

This is an excellent read for Valentines! The only thing that I wish is that it was longer! LOL! I wanted even more! It seemed to wrap up too quickly, but that's just because everything leading up to the end is WONDERFUL! The characters, the situation, the business all come together to make a story that I LOVE and could read again and again! Chocolate and romance! What else could you want for V-day?! ;) I highly recommend this little read. Melody is fast becoming one of my all time favorite authors! I've come to expect an entertaining, lovely, sometimes quirky novella from her and she never disappoints! Touching, fun, and romantic!

P.S. I must compliment the artist of the cover! It is not only beautiful but matches the scene within the book beautifully! :)

This book made me want to eat chocolate while I was reading it. It was a great book. The only thing I found wrong was the back cover said the character's name was Caroline Marshall. In the book it was Caroline Clark.

I fell in love with this authors books when I read Love Gently Falling. In her latest offering, the scene opens with a young widow at a train station getting ready with her young son to embark on a new adventure shortly after WWII concludes. Caroline seeks to start fresh and not be known by others as a young widow providing for her son.

Carolines sister lives in California with her two children and husband who works as a driver for a chocolate manufacturer. Caroline is able to live in the house of her sister Marjorie in the finished basement, though when she arrives Caroline sees how much work is to be done to make the space livable for her and her son Joe. Carolines biggest challenge is to redo her whole wardrobe now that she no longer lives in Minnesota and having to make due with her current outfits.

I really enjoyed the romance that blossoms for this single woman along with the maturity her son Joe provides for other kids his age. Once again, I am reminded of the cost not just to those who served on the front lines, but to their families at home along with the children.

So choose an afternoon, grab an afghan and enjoy Your Hearts Desire!
