Tell us a little about yourself. My husband and I have been directors of Christian Pen Pals Ministry to prisoners over 10 years. It's been an awesome privilege to serve our brothers and sisters behind the walls, and also to give hope to those who are lost and alone, still without Christ.
What was your motivation behind this project? Over these years I have collected writings and art work that the brethren share with us hoping to have a voice in society to reach especially the youth. I also have collected e-mails and writings from people doing ministry work.We believe this book is an important & timely message for all to hear; "You are not alone; the Living and True God hears your cry and wants to help you."
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Many people today are hurting and don't have an answer for the pain, this book is filled with love and hope; it will encourage those in struggles or without purpose. We also want to make people more aware of the suffering and broken lives so they can find ways to minister to people in need.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Some of the stories are heart breaking with experiences beyond my imagination. It is an eye opener for me; gives me understanding and empathy for others. My life has been so blessed and I take too much for granted!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Chuck Colson and Beth Moore among others.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Since many different authors of various ages and walks of life have contributed these writings, no matter who you are, you will definitely find a nugget of wisdom you can take away that will benefit you and make a lasting impact on your life. It is our prayer that the readers might be inspired to seek and gain the wisdom and strength to overcome personal struggles in their own lives, and from there, reach out to others in need to make the world a better place to live.
