To everyone who knows her, Annalise Decker is a model wife and mother. Shes a permanent member of the PTA, never misses her kids sporting events, and is constantly campaigning for her husbands mayoral race.
No one knows that Annalise was once Deidre OReilly, a troubled young woman whose testimony put a dangerous criminal behind bars. Relocated through the Witness Security Program to the sleepy town of Deep Haven, Deidre got a new identity and a fresh start, which began when she fell in love with local real estate agent Nathan Decker. Twenty years later, Annalise couldnt be more unprepared for her past to catch up with her. When Agent Frank Harrison arrives with news that the man she testified against is out on bail and out for revenge, Annalise is forced to face the consequences of her secrets. Will she run again, or will she finally find the grace to trust those she loves most with both her past and her future?
Characters in this novel are like wellsdeep. They reflect the morals and teachings found in Psalm 103, which talks of starting over anew and fresh thanks to God's love and forgiveness and heavenly guidance. Nevertheless, many times the characters are left to idle and reflect alone, and that makes the narrative momentum come to a standstill. What dialogue there is comes off well, but it is sparse. Thus, this book is a delight for readers who love character-driven stories but is rather slow and tedious for readers who love plot-driven books.
Deidre is a supermom. Shes willing to sacrifice everything for her family. Nathan, however, whiplashes between being take-charge and wimpy. He is also shorted on his share of hero work, which makes for an anticlimactic ending.
One side bonus of reading this book is that Warren has done her research, and readers will learn a lot about how the Witness Protection Program works. Women will appreciate the struggles of a wife, mom, and career woman, and the biblical elements are genuine. - Nichole Parks, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

The whole series has been so good that it is hard to put a book down. You just want to keep on reading. I love how Susan May Warren weaves characters from the previous books in without making the book dependent upon reading the previous books in the series. I could easily see each book in this series being made into individual movies. Susan May Warren is an excellent writer & I am looking forward to reading her other series's next.

daischopChattanooga, TNAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great readJuly 21, 2015daischopChattanooga, TNAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The story is about Annalise Decker, who had to create a new life 20 years prior after being placed into witness protection. But all the secrets she fought to keep hidden, comes to the surface with the appearance of her handler, with the bad news that the person she testified against is out of prison and is promising to make good on his threat to kill her. Problem, no one, not even her husband is aware of her prior life. Now she has only a few days to decide what to do and how it will affect not only her life, but those around her.
I've always enjoyed reading Susan May Warren, but this one takes the cake. It was amazing. I made the mistake of starting it on my lunch break at work, and the hour passed way too fast. Needless to say, I didn't finish it at that time. When I made it home, I wanted to sit and read it, but had to make dinner. Then hubby wanted me to watch a program with him. Finally, I escaped to the bathroom and took a very long bath while I devoured this book. It had me from the first chapter and kept me enthralled all the way to the epilogue. Absolutely loved the story. It had me wanting to laugh, cry and just gasp.
I definitely recommend this book and will share it with close family members. But this will be a book that I will read time and time again. Well done!
Helen MAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Final book in Deep Haven SeriesJune 4, 2015Helen MAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Annalise and Nathan Decker have the ideal life. Nathan is running for political office and Annalise is busy with her home, children and all the activities they are involved in. However, she has one very big secret she has told no one. She is on the Witness Security Program. Her agent, Frank, comes to town to warn her the criminal she testified against is out of prison and may be looking for her. Frank stays with them to help keep her safe and develops a relationship with Nathan's mother. But it seems like their life is starting to unravel anyways.
This is the final book in the Deep Haven Series. I have really enjoyed this series and meeting the people in the town. The series is Christian Fiction, reminding us to turn to God to help us in our lives. But the author does it in such a way that she does not get preachy and the books are really easy to read.

ÃÂ This was the second book I have read by Susan May Warren and I enjoyed this one though not as much as the first one I read. ÃÂ Again, because it was a fiction book, you could be fairly sure that everything was going to turn out okay in the end, but the way it turned out ÃÂ had a few options, and I liked how it did turn out with the whole community being willing to rally around Annalise and her family and support her.
