5 Stars Out Of 5
Seriously, you can GET IT

As a child, eschatology fascinated me. Movies like "The Mark of the Beast" made it seem real and ready to happen at any moment. As an adult, I've read the "Left Behind" series, start to finish, and I was struck primarily by the urgency every Christian should embrace as their call - we want to help people find Jesus now, not wait until the horrors of the Tribulation are inflicted on them. This book makes it possible to grasp that without resorting to fictional characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the read - and it was definitely not over my head. I thought the clarity was one of the greatest assets of the book.
The book flows naturally through the book of Revelation, from understanding the circumstances of its writing, to exploring the outline of its content, to diving into the very specific objects, visions, and symbols included. It definitely made it possible for me to follow the book of Revelation, and it was easy to marry the reading of a chapter in Skip's book to reading the Scripture. I liked, too, the summary information at the beginning of each chapter, which was presented with additional verses to incorporate in the study. In this way, it was clear that the book of Revelation shouldn't be seen as a quirky end to Scripture, but rather an exciting and completely appropriate climax of the whole of humanity - the confident conclusion to the creation story that started in Genesis, and flows throughout the entire canon.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has struggled to understand this most important book. God has a plan for humanity, and it includes you and I, our neighbors, our enemies, and our progeny. We should spend time thinking about the implications of a worldwide judgment, and then we should act accordingly. Skip's book clearly sounds a clarion call of action - to each believer whose impact must be temporal, because his destination is eternal.
