Dr. Mosely writes an excellent, easily read and understood, referenced book building upon the growing movement of Christians accepting their ingrafting into the Jewish tree, not the other way around. He illustrates the permanent connect between OT and NT. We Christians have missed out on so much for so long and the Jewish Jesus, Jewish Disciples, and Jewish majority in the early Church is the missing puzzle piece for us all.

This book helps me understand Jesus' teaching more completely. First, Dr. Moseley explains what some of the idioms and words Jesus used actually meant to people in his time. After reading this book, the teachings of Jesus in these passages have much more meaning for me. I was missing half the content of some of Jesus' sayings! Second, Dr. Moseley explains strains within first century Jewish thought (sort of like our denominations today), focusing on the pharisees. He also explains how Jesus' contemporaries viewed the Law of Moses. This book is well worth both its cost and the time used to read and relfect upon it.

I have read many books on Jesus and the chruch and this one is the best. There are so many misconceptions concerning Jesus, law and the chruch, this book set the record straight. There are so many chruches today that try to separate Judism (law) and Christianity (grace) but Dr. Ron Moseley shows there is a deep rooted connection. Also, I like the way Dr. Moseley gives the true history of the church and the study questions after each chapter that makes sure you understand what you are reading.

I enjoyed this book, it gives you a Jewish perspective on the life of Christ and the original church. I recommend it to anyone who desires to undertand what the church was like at its beginning. This book will also dispell some misconceptions we as believers might have about our roots.
