There is something poignant and meaningful about upcycling an abandoned planter with its well-earned patina while considering how the lines life has etched on us actually make us more appealing.

tammycookblogsbooks5 Stars Out Of 5I enjoy working on our house inside and outJanuary 17, 2018tammycookblogsbooksQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I got this devotional for the title alone. I enjoy working on our house inside and out, along with our property, which includes flower and produce gardens. I was pleasantly surprised that it not only deals with the physical home but with the people and emotions that live inside. Sandra relates everyday stories from her life that make the daily devotion feel like a friend sharing the ups and downs that have given them a closer relationship with God. The recipes/tips at the beginning of each new month is a nice bonus. I was provided a complimentary review copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

Whether she's pruning lilacs in her backyard, sharing a story about her dog, or reminiscing about her children, Sandra Byrd invites you in for a generous helping of spiritual insight and encouragement. She's funny, down-to-earth, and transparent as she shows us that God is with us even in everyday moments at home. I find myself thinking about the applications throughout the day which makes me alert to God's prompting on my heart in the day-to-day. Lovely.
Dawn Kinzer5 Stars Out Of 5My Favorite Daily DevotionalSeptember 19, 2015Dawn KinzerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Over the years I've purchased, received, and given away a lot of devotionals, but this one has fast become my all-time favorite.
Written in a warm and friendly tone, The One Year Home & Garden Devotions by Sandra Byrd is filled with inspiring and sometimes humorous anecdotes about the author's personal experiences in the home and garden.
I think it was a fun and clever idea to start each month with one of the following: a household tip (example: how to make scented linen water), ideas for garden areas (example: gorgeous garden pots), or a favorite recipe (example: bait beef stroganoff).
Although the devotional was written with females in mind, a great many men are not only handy around the house, they also like to cook and spend time in the yard and garden. More importantly, the life lessons and Bible verses included apply to both men and women. My manly husband decided to take a look, and he's also been enjoying the book.
