I love to hear Zig Ziglar, one of today's well-respected motivational speakers, so I was thrilled to see a One Year devotional book with Zig Ziglar!
At first glance, I wouldn't have immediately picked up this book for its looks. It is a black book with stamped gold writing and decoration. But, that's just not my preference.
The book is set up as a short daily devotional for both men and women, young and old, mature and growing Christians. Each day is one page, so it is a very short read for those quick, but quiet moments during your day. It starts with a Bible verse/passage, followed by a devotional message to help explain or further challenge you in thinking about the day's verse. To finish the day's devotional, a thought-provoking question is posed to help you to think more deeply about the topic and how to apply it to your life. Each day ends with a quote from many well-known speakers/persons, including Zig Ziglar, Oswald Chambers, Adrain Rogers, and many more!
While this book is not designed to take the place of a daily time in Gods word, it does provide short, daily thoughts to encourage and challenge you in your Christian walk, wherever that may be.

When I wake up I am ready to face the day at work. After showering I run in to my office and my first temptation is to check my work email. It has always been a struggle to slow down and spend time in reading a devotional or The Word. Ive tried many devotionals. I have a copy of an old and very popular devotional on my desk but most of the time I cannot understand it. I even have one sent via email but it is not very challenging and I usually find myself skipping it altogether and reading work related emails.Well I can happily report that I have found a devotional that I can understand, keeps my interest and is challenging. And the winner is: Daily Insights with Zig Ziglar. If youre a fan of Zig Ziglar then youre already familiar with his down to earth, no nonsense approach to business topics. If youre not already a fan, this devotional book will help you become one. In Daily Insights, Ziglar takes a simple yet profound approach to Biblical insights. This book is well written, yet easy to understand. It is motivational and helps focus my attention on the eternal. Ive tried many daily devotional books but this one has kept my interest and motivated me more than any other. Ziglar starts each days devotional with scripture and then provides practical insight into that scripture. He concludes each days readings with some thought provoking questions and usually a very interesting quote or two.I would recommend this highly for anyone looking for a way to help them begin, or end, each day focusing on Biblical principles.
