Brian Harr5 Stars Out Of 5April 2, 2009Brian HarrThis is probably the best book on music I have ever read. Mr. Aniol's review and analysis of culture through the ages and his emphasis on heart issues make this a must-read book for anyone who is seeking to make musical choices that truly honor the Lord both in their private life and public worhip. This book is excellent for the lay person, as well as the full-time pastor or church musician. I wished every Bible believing Christian would get and read a copy of this book. It would make a huge difference on the Church's call to be salt and light in this dark world in an age when the church is severaly lacking in that calling.
Ed Dunbar5 Stars Out Of 5April 2, 2009Ed DunbarThis book is an important and timely addition to the discussion of music and worship.
Tim Shafer5 Stars Out Of 5April 2, 2009Tim ShaferWorship in song is one of the most fascinating entries in the many books about music in worship. Aniol has serious credentials as a theologian AND as a trained and skilled musician. His insights are credible both theologically and musically. He writes with the insights of a biblical scholar, the sensitivity of a pastor, and the practical knowledge of a well-trained musician.Scott makes a strong case for the ability of music to communicate apart from the words it carries. He articulates what we all know intuitively: music communicates emotions in a manner that anyone can understand.Worship in Song is supremely readable. Pastor Aniol patiently takes the reader through the many complex facets of this topic with calm logic and care.I highly recommend the book to all who seek to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.Tim
Timothy Williams5 Stars Out Of 5April 2, 2009Timothy WilliamsThis book is a must-read. I haven't read another book that so carefully, biblicly, theologically, and kindly addresses these important issues. It's great for study groups - I used it in our church. Discussion questions at the end of each chapter facilitate group study well.
