I read it cover to cover for my master's degree program. I highly appreciate its scholarly style where no particular style of worship is condemned or exalted. I'm glad I read it. It brings up a lot of very important points and the author is an evangelical. Not in the incorrect news media sense of a Republican, but the correct spiritual sense of one who believes our duty is to share the gospel with the lost. Anyone who says this book puts them to sleep might need to ask themselves if worship truly excites them or bores them.

60% of the book was very thought provoking, and the other 40% put me to sleep. It's very easy to skim and skip over sections, and even chapters that aren't intesting. If you find it cheap ($5) it would probably be worth it.
