An easy-to-understand pocket reference guide. Gain a brief overview of the historical and doctrinal backgrounds of the world's major religious groups in this full-color pocket guide. The book emphasizes the uniqueness of Christianity, while highlighting how it differs from other world religions such as Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and, Confucianism. The book also examines smaller religious groups such as the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Christian Scientists, and Unitarians. It takes a glance at Roman Catholicism as well as numerous Protestant Christian groups, and it concludes with a section stressing the distinctive role that Jesus Christ plays in the history of world religion.
Rev DarianSpringfield, MOAge: 35-44Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5A good intro to various religions/beliefsAugust 4, 2012Rev DarianSpringfield, MOAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This book is a good intro/review of beliefs other than Christianity (although there is some information about that as well). The book falls a little short in its over simplification of some of the religious groups (such as Judaism and the Jehovah's Witnesses), and some of it may even be a bit misleading because it's overly broad, however I would still recommend this if the reader was looking for a quick read on the differences between various religious beliefs and sects in the world.
