I have two boys that have struggled in language arts for years. This curriculum is fantastic. It keeps the kids engaged, they are learning, and retaining what they are learning. I would suggest that you purchase the 4th edition as the lessons are already in Quizlet which gives them more option to learn.

This is a great book for my third graders to learn their vocabulary. There are various methods in each lesson for learning the definitions of the words. At the end of each lesson is a story which includes the vocab words and questions pertaining to the story. This provides us the opportunity to practice comprehension, retell, and write complete sentences.

My kids love Wordly Wise. It challenges them to think about each vocabulary word, but not to the point where it is frustrating for them. Both my girls love Wordly Wise books.
