Publisher's Description

Learn a Biblical Greek WORD Everyday.

The purpose of a Word of the Day is to share the richness of the Greek language used in the New Testament and help make these words practical in the reader's Christian living. Because words do matter, the words of the New Testament matter most.  And in a day when words don't  seem to mean much, the need for precision in Christian doctrine and practice has never been more critical.

For each day of the year, Watson presents a brief word study and then offers an application to make that particular Greek word become real for practical living. To aid reinforcement, related verses are listed for the reader's personal study.

Doc Watson fulfills his desire of many years to provide daily devotionals that not only contain deep spiritual truth, but also are easy to read and understand. In this day of relativism, the absolutes of God's Word (and words) are desperately needed. These brief devotionals will enrich the mind, stir the soul, and empower the life of God's people.

Excellent work. Give this book to every Christian you know. Every Christian must enrich himself on the meanings of the words in Scriptures. A present danger is always a confusion on the terms of following Jesus Christ and what that Bible means. This is a great help for understanding a Bible word each day. It is God's word you are learning! You don't need to be ashamed of this book at all.

I started this book Jan 1 and was happy and blessed by it but I got to today's entry - February 15 - and the author says that all the gifts of the Spirit are still in operation except apostles and prophets because since the NT was written, they are no longer needed. He also says evangelists are really just church planters. Why then, did God choose the foolishness of preaching to save men?He is weaving in HIS doctrine while he is supposed to be just giving us Greek definitions. Now I need to toss the book, or go back and re-read everything and strain out any previously unnoticed bias.I don't know Greek, so its going to be hard to spot where he uses definitions (and if his definitions are right) to "preach" his own theology.

Probably the best devotional book I have ever owned as it introduces a new Greek word from the New Testament everyday. I hope that he will publish a new one with new Greek words and their meanings and uses in the Bible. If you are looking for a 20 minute devotional with an academic learning experience at the same time, this is for you!
