Lets be honest: its far too easy to go through day-to-day life without a sense of the mystery, the marvel, or the awe of Gods presence. Have you ever felt your relationship with God isnt as vibrant as you want it to be? Have you ever felt like God seemed far awayeven in the midst of devotions, prayer, and church?Youre not alone. We Were Created for WonderYou were created and designed to experience wonder. Woven into the fabric of our humanity is an innate ability and desire for the wonder of God. Its felt in the moments when you watch the sun melt behind the horizon, when you reach out to cradle a baby and smell the sweet scent of new life, when you cant help but smile as you witness two wrinkled souls renew their vows to each other. Such moments remind us we were made for something more than deadlines and debt, carpools and coffee breaks. Yet despite such wondrous moments, we can still find ourselves going through the motions of faith. Whether youre: A long time follower of Jesus or still figuring Him outUnemployed, overly-employed, or an entrepreneurA creator, innovator, or conformistGrumpy, ebullient, grey-haired or bed-headAn average Joe or have-a-gym-membership-but-never-goA superhero (of any era), supermom, superdad, super grand, super great grand, or dont feel particularly super at all No matter who you are or where youve beenif youve lived a life where youve seen it all, done it all, or feel like youre past it allGod still longs to take your breath away. Isaiah 29:4 records Gods desire for you: "Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder." Do you see it? God is busting at the seams to display His glory, power, and might in your life. And He wants to give you the greatest gift of allHimself. Yet why do we pass by the wonder of God unaware?
"Feinberg turns exegesis into an art, delivering findings that invite the audience to touch, taste, smell, and see God's handiwork throughout the Scriptures and in their own lives." - ED STETZER, President, LifeWay Research
"We dangerously underestimate the power of wonder. . . Margaret recenters wonder at the heart of our relationship with God, with seismic results. This book shook my soul awake and made it impossible for me to continue following a God of my own design. Her work is captivating, staggeringly honest and refreshingly deep, stirring my mind, heart, sense, and soul to consider God in ways that are reshaping me." - NANCY ORTBERG, Author of Looking for God
"Wonderstruck invites you to open your eyes to the delights, joys, and gifts of God all around. You can't read this book and remain the same-it will change you so you see yourself, others, God, and the world around you in a more beautiful, life-giving way." - BOB GOFF, Author of Love Does
"Wonderstruck is a game-changing book. Feinberg's brilliant writing captures you as she points to the God who has captured her." - JUD WHILITE, Senior pastor of Central Christian Church, Las Vegas, Nevada
"This generation longs to encounter Good News in fresh, modern, and engaging ways. Margaret Feinberg stands at the forefront of communicating the timeless truths of Jesus with vibrant language, imagery, and expression. Those who read Wonderstruck will never be the same. Highly recommended." - GABE LYONS, Founder of Q; author of The Next Christians
"Wonderstruck, like all of Margaret's writing, is rooted in historical, global, and biblical perspectives, and reads like a song with storied verses and a beautiful chorus: Pay attention, pay attention; it matters; pay attention. I can't wait to share this book with friends." - SARA GROVES, Singer and songwriter
"Margaret Feinberg does a superb job of helping us hear God. Through her felicitous prose and engaging storytelling, I not only got a feeling for her unique journey with God, but I also received fresh glimpses into my own." - MARK GALLI, Senior managing editor, Christianity Today
"Maybe the reason the Christian faith in America isso anemic and lifeless is because we have settled forlifeless religion and stuffy ritual instead of a thriving, close, alive, passionate relationship to the living God. Margaret's latest book is like standing under NiagaraFalls spiritually. You won't be able to put it down." - RAY JOHNSTON, Senior pastor of Bayside Church
Judy1 Stars Out Of 5WonderstruckOctober 14, 2015JudyQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I am very disappointed by her book. It is not what I was expecting and does not meet my expectations. Usually a book is better than the workbook. Not this time. Very disappointed by the way the book is written, hard to follow and did not relate to the title in anyway. I am sorry I ever read this book.

I gave this book 5/5 stars! I found the book to be encouraging and very well written. As she searched the night sky for the Northern Lights, it came to her that this was the posture we were to take in our spiritual journey. We are to live in holy expectation that God will meet us in beautiful, mysterious ways. We are to stay awake with eyes wide open.
Yet we slumber. Instead of holy awe we have unholy indifference. "What are the wonders in your own life that you fail to marvel or even sleep straight through?" Margaret asks. "How often do you pass by God's presence and handiwork unaware?"
She shares stories to show how you can join God in his miraculous work in others, making dry bones come alive, breathing restoration.
Margaret hopes that by reading this book, "you will rediscover, or possibly discover for the first time, the wonders of God stirring in your own heart."
She suggests a companion Bible study, partnering with another, to begin sensing God's presence in places and experiences you never expected.
Margaret ends her book with suggested activities for thirty days of discovering wonder.
I think those last thirty suggestions are the strength of this book. I was not very impressed with Feinberg's story telling. I found no exceptionally well crafted sentences that captured my attention. However, the concept, being awake to the wonders of God, is compelling. The last section, with the thirty exercises to be awake to wonder of God is what makes this book worthwhile.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher for the purpose of this review.
Sufficient in JesusAge: 18-24Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5Vivid writing, personal stories.December 16, 2012Sufficient in JesusAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 3I want to announce the newest book I have read, given to me by Worthy Publishing. Wonderstruck by Margaret Feinberg.
Our lives often lack wonder, because we do not open our eyes. This is what Margaret Feinberg is writing about. Her book is full of things that made me underline them, things that make sense. Her writing is bright, the word pictures are fresh in my mind from when I first saw them. Her book reminds us that we are in an Earth full of wonder all around us. She writes about the beauty of Creation, of relationships, of rest.
These are some of the word pictures that she wrote:
The evening alpenglow of a Colorado sunset when it looks like God has scattered thousands of rose petals across the snow for our pleasure.
The woods of Scotland, looking like a forest in Middle Earth- dark, green, misty, and elvish, on a walking tour.
The aurora borealis on an Alaskan night as you stand before a window when you should be asleep to watch the sky.
A horseback ride through a pine wood where the trees are holding as much snow as they can bear, and every time you touch a limb you are powdered with crystals.
These are the Wonders of life, the wonders that most of us miss. That is the meat.
The bones to avoid include the fact that Margaret has defended the egalitarian position in the past. In 2008 she defended the nomination of Sarah Palin for Vice President in a debate on CNN against Dr. Baucham. I am a complementarian, and I hope I could defend why I believe in Biblical roles as timeless. The Biblical gender roles are eternal, and there are many applications that look different for each family while staying within those commanded roles.
The second bone is three commentaries on Genesis, mentioned in this book, all written by evolutionists, one of whom also believes in homosexual "marriage." I am a No Death Before Sin Six Day Creationist, a position that even skeptical Theologians agree makes the most hermeneutical sense.
