Series: Family Movie Discussion Guide Bible Study

Publisher's Description

This Hollywood classic illustrates how one man s integrity and selflessness influence an entire community of people.

It s a Wonderful Life tells the story of George Bailey, a struggling businessman with dreams of greater things. Born and raised in Bedford Falls, New York, Bailey cannot shake the town and its people. After inheriting his father s business and falling (unwillingly) for the girl next door, Bailey finds himself stuck in a situation that will test his patience, his inner strength, and his family s love.

This study will help your family discuss the spiritual themes of the movie. What is the value of a human life? How much influence does one person have? What does George Bailey learn about selflessness and greed? How does the movie portray the power of ambition?

Since many had never watched the entire movie, perhaps the study would have been enhanced by breaking the movie into four sessions having the group watch one section each night and then reflecting on a series of questions developed from that section of the movie rather than on just the four main topics.
