We dont even know all their names. Some are referred to only by their nationality. Some are known only by the place where they lived. Some would become queens, while others would live on the fringes of society. One would give birth to a nation, and one would give birth to the Messiah. Their culture often overlooked or discounted the contributions of women, yet the writers of Scripture found these women and the role they played remarkable to the telling of God's story.
As we study the lives of the women in the Bible, we find important truths that God wants us to grasp. They lived in a different world than our own, but we find ourselves facing the same issues they faced. Yet even more, these women show us there is a God who sees us where we are and loves us for who we are. He is the one who hovers over all the pages of the Bible, shaping lives, rescuing hearts, healing sicknesses, raising what was dead to life, and assigning high callings to those who choose to follow him and have faith in him.
In this 10-session workbook, Max Lucado tells some of his favorite accounts of these ten womenSarah, Abigail, Esther, the Samaritan Woman, Mary Magdalene, and othersand describes what set them all apart.
EACH SESSION INCLUDES
- 50 in-depth Bible studies to help you navigate the stories in Scripture
- Daily points to remember to help you summarize the key points
- Daily prayers to help you focus your thoughts and move into your quiet time
- Weekly memory verses to help you hide God's word in your heart
- Additional notes to help you lead a group through the study
Ten Women of the Bible is ideal for both individual use and for study in a small-group setting.

As with the 10 men of the Bible we spaced this one out to one day per Sunday as there simply was too much to cover for one character per Sunday. Give good discussions as that approach seemed to work out fairly well. More than one member mentioned the thought that topic seemed to involve male characters at times more so than the female character. We did enjoy and appreciate the background and modern "twist" the authors used throughout the book. Was wonderful to find Scriptural "nuggets" here and there. We did not think this publication was as well done as the Ten Men of the Bible. I think the single day of study per Sunday may have made it easier for substitute leaders to lead the class as the topic was more focused and did not take into the entire story for the particular woman.
Price was very reasonable particularly in light of the book lasting for a whole year.

jroberts5 Stars Out Of 5Ten Women of the Bible, Study GuideFebruary 15, 2017jrobertsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I volunteered to order this book for my ladies circle. We used the book for the first time yesterday and I was delighted that everyone loved it! One can't go far wrong with Max Lucado, but a group of ten or eleven women don't always agree on anything. This book cost a few dollars more than the series we have been using, but is definitely worth the small difference in cost.
Twila Morris5 Stars Out Of 5Ten Women of the Bible, Study GuideOctober 28, 2016Twila MorrisQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This was disappointing only in the fact that I was looking for an indepth study. It 'spoon' feeds you in some ways. But I recommend for new Christians or those wanting a quick study for their lunch hour. It is price where most could purchase.
