This book is a blessing to all woman! It has help me to keep my priorities as God would want them: God first, husband second, children third and then the precious ministry work. It encourages that truly all things are done through Christ who strengthen us.
I am using this book for a class I've been teaching at our church for over five years using a wide variety of christian books. However, most of the women in my class are not married, including myself so this book was not a good choice. I expected the book to concentrate on our personal relationship with God, using David's life as a man after God's heart, but this study deals more with the role of a wife and mother based on Biblical teaching. This book is an excellent study for married women, but I am having a difficult time applying most of Elizabeth's teachings to the mostly unmarried women in my class. Some of them have even stopped coming because a lot of what Elizabeth is saying does not apply to them as single women who have no intentions of getting married. So if you are going to use this book for a class, think about the make up of you class. If they are married, or are planning to get married, it is great! But if not, I would not recommend it.
Elizabeth George's book is uplifting and inspiring, so much so that I've shared it with many other women within and without our church. We've enjoyed it soo much that we formed a group study to discuss it, spending several weeks. I wished I had had this book to read when I was a young wife and mother. But as George stated, it's never too late.
