This book's theme was taken from Proverbs 31 vrs 10-31 and the first part of this book talks about a woman's need to devote her heart to God and she gives very practical advice on how to accomplish this.
The second part, chapters 5-16 deals with husband, children and home and these are the chapters that I had the most problems with. For example of you have no husband or children at home and have no desire to marry or remarry, then most of what is in these chapters will probably have no relevance for you. In my bible study group only 3 out of 12 of us are married, but all 3 of us have children are all grown and out on their own, so very little seemed to apply to us. I will not go into specifics, but overall I felt that these chapter were written for young stay at home mom's and that the author was out of touch with real life working women who may or may not have children.
Chapters 17-24 the author deals with having a heart for the Lord. Although it wasn't as indepth as I would have liked, I pulled a few ideas out that I felt God was speaking to me about. For example, she talks about not putting ministry before home. As women we can get so caught up in serving the Lord that we forget that our homes need out attention also.
Put God on your calendar. Make sure that you get your time with Him.
Make lists or get a day planner.
Take baby steps and let God lead you in the direction He wants your life to go. If you do too much in short time, we tend to get burned out and we all know what happens then.
My best advice for anyone considering this book, if you are a leader, look at who is in your group and talk to them, especially if you are considering the workbook also.

You do need the journal to go with if you are a group study. One of us had the journal so we are just doing the questions together every week when we meet.
