Rosenberg will have you on the edge of your seat, tugging at emotions and gripping your attention through the whole book.
Following on the heels of the two, action-packed novels before this, Without Warning lives up to its suspense/thriller title and delivers a powerful, thrilling, and heart-wrenching end to the J. B. Collins series.
We pick up close to where we left off with The First Hostage and jump straight into a very action-packed beginning. It's something I really appreciate about Rosenberg's writing--he grips you with the action but also has the ability to instruct you on issues, thoughts, and (of course) J.B.'s journey as a character.
This book was, in a word, heart-wrenching. I won't say much about why to avoid any spoilers but I will say that it took a few turns I was not expecting--at all. Though, to be fair, everything that happened was logical to the plot and only aided in furthering the story. Yes, there are some hard things, but there is hope too. Such beautiful hope.
I stared this whole series through audiobooks, something I'm really glad I did because I was able to really get a handle on pronouncing some of the names. But I was also able to see how it was to read a tangible copy and I really enjoyed it. The audiobooks are truly fantastic, but there is something to be said about holding the book in your hands.
I would recommend not only this book, but really the whole series! I've told so many people about this series and about Rosenberg's fantastic writing. In my mind he's on par with some of my other favorite authors like David Baldacci and Roine Kendig with the way he writes and the themes he incorporates. If you like political/action thrillers I think you'll be a fan of this.
One last thing of note for me is the reality that Rosenberg addresses faith in such a real, tangible way. I absolutely loved J.B.'s personal story coinciding with the overall plot of the three books. It was real, refreshing, and at times extremely honest.
My rating: 5
I received this book for free but was under no obligation to post a review. I do so under my own motivation and the opinions I have expressed in this review are honest and entirely my own.
Sue Galucki5 Stars Out Of 5Readers be warned!May 2, 2017Sue GaluckiQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Joel C. Rosenberg has finished this trilogy with a heart pounding, breathtaking, page turning, suspenseful read...like all of his other books. Once you start this book, you will find it hard to put down. I found myself looking more closely at the daily newspaper to see if the events in this novel appeared in the news. I am grateful that the author is so tuned in to international politics and history that he can put an intelligent character like J. B. Collins through the events in this novel and make them come alive for the reader.

This is despite the Capitol Building being bombed while the President was in itand a successful kidnapping of the President a short time earlier by this same group. J. B. Collins, on the other hand, a New York Times reporter, has no qualms about publicly identifying ISIS as the group responsible for all the destruction. He also attempts to warn the American public that this is only the beginning of attacks, and the worst is yet to come.
In an effort to prevent that, J. B. finds himself talking with the president who once again doesnt want to escalate anything involving the ISIS group. While Collins is trying to drum up American attention about the dangers of ISIS, his family is viciously attacked. Collins himself becomes a wanted man by the terrorists, and he must constantly watch over his shoulder for potential assailants. If he cant get the American president to listen to him, he must find someone powerful to hear him out before it is too late.
With the clock ticking before ISIS makes another deadly attack, J.B. attempts to meet with world leaders in the Middle East. Suddenly he has some unexpected resources open up that just might help him do that. The question is, if he is able to plead his case with these other countries, will they be willing to work together to stop ISIS? Because one country alone will not be enough, and everything must happen quickly because there isnt much time.
This is a fast-paced thriller with lots of twists and turns along with incredible chase scenesnormally I am not a fan of those, but it really works in this tale. Collins discussions with the different countrys heads of state are so realistic they sound like that have been taken straight from todays headlines. But what will really surprise the reader is the endingit is definitely one that I didnt see coming. All I can say is, Wow! Without Warning is Book 3 in the J. B. Collins Series, but this tale can be read on its own. I highly recommend this 5-star book to anyone who enjoys exciting thrillers, fictionalized accounts of todays world, or Christian fiction.

BGC5 Stars Out Of 5Without Warning seems to speak a word of warning to us.April 22, 2017BGCQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Haven't finished this yet, but so far this is another taut and timely thriller by Rosenberg. I love how he weaves Biblical prophecy and principles into his novels. This appears to be the same in "Without Warning".

RosenbergApril 9, 2017debsMaineAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is Book #3 and the final book in the J.B. Collins series. I didn't read book #1 or#2 and was able to keep up with this fastpaced, suspenseful story. From the beginning tothe end you will not be able to putthis book down. When the President of the United States addresses the nation of his State of the Union, ISIS starts an attack on the country. J.B. is determined to save the country, however, no one will listen to him, leaving him to take matters into his own hands. The details that the author puts into this book are violent and suspenseful. The book will take you on the adventure of J.B. saving the U.S. and trying to stay ahead ofAbu Khalif and ISIS to save the nation.
I would recommend this book if you like military, political or suspenseful books. This is one of those books that keeps you reading to the end and moves fast. It does contain violence and makes you think that this could be really happening in today's world. It makes you think and re-evaluate today's political world. I want to go and read book #1 and #2 because the author is so good and love the way he writes.
