Series: Montana Rescue
Search and rescue pilot Kacey Fairing is home on leave in Mercy Falls, Montana, twelve years after she joined the military to escape the mistakes of her past. With a job waiting for her as the new lead pilot of Peak Rescue in Glacier National Park, Kacey hopes to reconnect with the now-teenage daughter she sees only between deployments. What she doesn't realize is that someone else is also back in town.
Ben King has been building his country music career since the day Kacey shut him out of her life. Now all of that's on hold when his injured father calls him home to help run Peak Rescue until he's fully recovered. It doesn't take long, though, to discover his father's ulterior motives as Kacey Fairing walks into the house and back into his heart.
With Mercy Falls in a state of emergency due to flash floods, Kacey and Ben are forced to work together to save lives. But when floodwaters turn personal, can they put aside the past to save their future?
Phyllis White5 Stars Out Of 5Another amazing book by Susan May WarrenMarch 19, 2017Phyllis WhiteQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is the first in her new Montana Rescue Series, and takes a hold of your emotions from the start and doesn't let go until the very last word on the very last page. The characters are intriguing, and so real, that you find yourself becoming a part of the whole town of Mercy Falls and the SAR team in particular.
I love how the story takes a war hero and big country music star and brings them back together for healing, for forgiveness, and for self worth, and finding it all through the love of our God that never fails, never stops searching, and never lets us go. The story takes multiple story lines and characters, and weaves them together so seamlessly, while also taking the reader on a rollercoaster of emotions and adrenaline rushes. I can't wait for book two to come out!
Crystal5 Stars Out Of 5Fairytale come true romance!February 15, 2017CrystalQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0After his country-duo singing partner decides to go solo and his father suffers injuries from a traumatic helicopter crash, country music superstar Ben King returns to Mercy Falls to lick his wounds and care for his ailing father. He hopes in the process that he'll be able to pick up the pieces of his faltering music career. Kacey Fairing has also returned to Mercy Falls for the summer after taking leave from her military career to spend some time with her teenage daughter and to work as a search and rescue helicopter pilot for PEAK Rescue. Although Ben's father- who also heads up PEAK rescue- cites Kacey's bronze star military award as his reasons for hiring her, Ben quickly learns that his father's intentions went much deeper. His actual plan was to bring high school sweethearts, Ben and Kacey, back together again in an attempt for old wounds to heal and promises left unfulfilled to have a new chance. Blindsided by the revelation that Kacey kept their daughter instead of putting her up for adoption thirteen years ago as he was led to believe, Ben struggles with reconciling his past mistakes in hopes of carving out a new future with Kacey and their daughter. However, Kacey's leftover bitterness and anger at her belief that Ben abandoned her all those years ago leaves her having difficulty believing that Ben's love could be true and that he could actually choose a life with her and their daughter over fame and fortune. Meanwhile, Ian and Sierra's storyline continues from If Ever I Would Leave You as new evidence surfaces about Esme's disappearance. In the process, Ian and Sierra's relationship is tested and pushed to the limits in Ian's desperate attempt to determine what happened to Esme.
I enjoyed the primary storyline about Ben and Kacey's reunion as it is truly a "fairytale come true" plot. Both characters realize that what they believed to be the truth of their past ended up being the manipulation of others. Their sweet story unfolds beautifully as each discovers the truth about misconceptions about their past and the realization that their love for one another is still alive and well. Ian and Sierra's story, however, was the most surprising and compelling. It appears that Ian will finally bridge the gap between the awkward employee vs. romantic-interest situation that the two face only to have the instance end dramatically with Ian firing Sierra after learning she withheld information about Esme's disappearance. Later, the two reconcile as friends and Sierra offers to help with some preliminary investigation into new evidence linked to a possible sighting of Esme. When Sierra's help produces even more hope that Esme is still alive, Ian shares a tender moment and kiss with Sierra leading the reader to hope, once again, that the two will finally pursue a romance. But, no, Ian screws it up- again! His ego and stubbornness cause an even wider rift between the two leading Sierra to set some boundaries that, for this reader at least, broke my heart. I have a feeling the story between these two is far from over!

MFurAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful New Series!January 29, 2017MFurAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Secrets and guilt can chew away at you until all you can do is wait to be rescued. Thats what happened to Kacey and Ben. Kacey thought her secret was safe, but when Ben King came back to town everything started to unravel. Ben battled with guilt from his past and when he stumbled onto Kaceys secret it turned his whole world upside down.
This story is a great example of Gods unstoppable love for us if we just let go and let Him rescue us.
Susan May Warren is a fantastic author who is skilled at storytelling. Her style of writing flows with action, suspense, drama, romance and sweet touches of Gods undying love!
I loved getting to know these characters and visiting with a few from some of the authors other series. Im looking forward to the next books in this series because I know it will touch my heart just like this one did.

tmurrellTNAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good writing styleJanuary 24, 2017tmurrellTNAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3Kacey's career as a helicopter pilot in the military has been derailed by a terrible crash. She decides to come home to Mercy Falls to lick her wounds and reconnect with her daughter. She doesn't expect to run into the man who broke her heart so many years ago.
Ben, a country music star, returned home at his father's request to help manage the business while his father heals from an injury. But his father might be butting his nose where it doesn't belong, because somehow Kacey, the woman who broke his heart, is also helping.
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of broken relationships because of misunderstanding that years and years later come together and realize that both of them viewed the break up completely different and if only they'd communicated better or been more mature. . . And that is exactly what this book is about. It took me a long time to get into the book. But once I did, the author's excellent writing captured my attention and kept me. There is a lot more to the story than just the two main characters. The plot was detailed and the characters had great dimension which added to the story and overshadowed my dislike of the romance part. Overall, definitely give this book a try, even if you share my views on that particular plot style. You won't be disappointed.
I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads. All thoughts expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed the characters and the story. She has a unique writing style. The story offered a great Christian message and kept me engaged from page one. I also appreciated that the conflicts werent overdramatized. Wild Montana Skies tackles two hard topics, teen pregnancy and PTSD.
It was a worthwhile read and I look forward to book two in the series.
