I found this book to be very helpful for me. My husband of 36 years passed away 14 months ago and recently I had found myself experiencing grief and struggles that I thought I would have been passed by now. Reading this book I discovered that what I was experiencing was not at all unusual or unique, and that in fact the author had experienced many of the same feelings. Her style of writing is easy to read, she shares several scripture references and is very honest in her feelings. Although I know my struggle is not over, I feel better knowing that I am not alone in my feelings and that in itself helped me greatly. I would highly recommend this book to all widows.

I recently lost my spouse this year unexpectedly. I purchased this book and was not sure if it would be of any help to me whatsoever. I just have to say that the author helped me put words to my grief that I could not express or even find to name how I am feeling. Thank you so much for sharing your story so I can understand mine.

I met Mrs. Gayle Roper at a banquet we were hosting for widows. She told me about her book so I ordered it soon after. It is very well-written! An eye-opening account for someone like me who is not widowed, but works with hundreds of them across America. Gayle shares how she feels now that she lives alone, but then she ends each little section with a Bible verse - reminding herself of the Truth, regardless of her feelings. This is so important for all of us, widowed or not. I highly recommend this book!

Though losing my husband was sudden and unexpected and has only been 11 months, I appreciated her many uses of Scripture! I was hesitant to read the book yet found it encouraging and made me more aware of how the comfort of the Lord has helped me.
