Though losing my husband was sudden and unexpected and has only been 11 months, I appreciated her many uses of Scripture! I was hesitant to read the book yet found it encouraging and made me more aware of how the comfort of the Lord has helped me.

I bought this for a friend who recently lost her husband. Although I did not read it, I looked through it and thought it would help my friend in times of loneliness.

I met Mrs. Gayle Roper at a banquet we were hosting for widows. She told me about her book so I ordered it soon after. It is very well-written! An eye-opening account for someone like me who is not widowed, but works with hundreds of them across America. Gayle shares how she feels now that she lives alone, but then she ends each little section with a Bible verse - reminding herself of the Truth, regardless of her feelings. This is so important for all of us, widowed or not. I highly recommend this book!

You see what the new widows have to go through and learn. It prepares us for the new role we have to take on and walk through.
