Called "the best preacher in the family," by her father, Billy Graham, Anne Graham Lotz speaks around the globe with the wisdom and the authority of years spent studying God's Word. In her latest book, Anne shares her heart and God's teachings on the universal problem of suffering.
Drawing her characteristically keen insights from the familiar story of Lazarus in the ninth and eleventh chapters of the Gospel of John, Anne offers Jesus' reassuring answers to our heartfelt cries for understanding:
- Why doesn't God care?
- Why does He let these things happen?
- Why me?
- Why doesn't God answer my prayers?
- Why didn't He protect me?
- Why doesn't He perform a miracle?
Why? helps us understand and deal with suffering while guiding us to the ultimate answer-the Savior who shares our grief and our tears.
Anne Graham Lotz is a bestselling and award-winning author of eleven books, including Wounded by Gods People. She is the president of AnGeL Ministries, Raleigh, North Carolina. Called "the best preacher in the family" by her father, Billy Graham, Anne speaks around the globe with the wisdom and authority of years spent studying God's Word. The New York Times named Anne one of the five most influential evangelists of her generation.

It caused me to dive into Scriptures and think deeply about how God sees things. We always tend to question death of a loved one, sickness, etc. But Anne also refers to the quieter things of life - things not seen by others such as stress, depression, loneliness.... It was encouraging as well as gave insight and a different perspective of Martha in the story of Lazarus. Good read. Good thinking.
Ron McSwain5 Stars Out Of 5This book helps answer: "WHY?" this side of heavenJuly 13, 2012Ron McSwainQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book does as fine a job as of answering the challenging question "WHY?" This question had to have been asked a thousand times when Trey Irwin, a dynamic, committed Christian 15 yr-old in our church, was diagnosed with Adult Pancreatic Cancer. When told of his diagnosis, Trey's first statement was: "I will be healthy here or healthy in Heaven!" Over a 4 month period, Trey's message of Faith & Trust in CHRIST, went viral and touched people all over America and around the world with the "Pray for Trey" message. Trey's battle, his testimony of Faith, answered, as much as possible: "WHY?" This book is a great resource for anyone trying to understand or helping someone else understand - "WHY?"

Brenda Taylor5 Stars Out Of 5November 1, 2008Brenda TaylorI read this book about three years ago and knew it would touch the hearts of those who suffer loss, pain, trials, and tribulations of all kinds. I loaned a copy to my cousin when she lost her mother, then sent my copy to someone who had just suffered a miscarriage. I decided to order 3 more copies to have on hand to comfort others who will need it. Lotz always gets to the heart of the matter--to the loving Savior who knows like we never can what it means to suffer!
M.J. Casey5 Stars Out Of 5March 26, 2008M.J. CaseyThis book put into words what I knew to be true, but needed so desperatly to see in print where I could read them over and over. What comfort it brought to me when in a very short period of time, death took my 20 yr. old grandson and a dear friend, and my 15 yr. old granddaughter got pregnant. Illness and crisis were everywhere I turned and life was overwhelming. The book is an easy read and so worth it. I keep several on hand to give away when to those in distress and asking "why"?
