There are several things I like about this book, which includes the amount of research (which I first became aware of with his

The Chronology of the Old Testament) and his straight forward non-apologetic manner... this is a Man of God and I really appreciate his manner of presentation, backed up with loads of research. The information is balanced with comparisons to make his points and for what we, the reader, should be expecting. I also want to add that I was reading Reese's KJV Bible Study in Chronological Order and Dr Reese gives a great deal of credit and respect for Jones' The Chronology of the Old Testament and Jones giving his permission for Reese to utilize his extensive list of dates in his research. I've been a Christian for over 62 years (and still going strong, I might add) and every time I read something by Jones, I'm astounded by his research and his presentation of the material. I'm an old mathematician myself (and a Texan), so that makes me even more proud to give my "both thumbs up" endorsement.

This book is a must read for serious students of the Word. Dr. Jones documents the history of the translations and revisions and exposes the motives for those who have attempted to distort Scripture. God has provided the assurance of the reliability of the Word and Dr. Jones has given us the information to discern Satan's attacks on God's truth. I didn't properly understand the disputes over claims to which manuscripts were most accurate. This book is an eye-opener! Thank you, Dr. Jones.

In spite of the ecclesiastical and academic politics down through the ages, God has indeed preserved His written word for us today. The question is which translation can I rely upon. This Christian believer grew up on King James and knew it quite well, then switch to the NIV. The NIV never set right, but I was not about to change back to the old English. The result? I suffered that political broadside upon my faith in Jesus Christ for decades. Thanks to Floyd Nolan Jones and his book WHICH VERSION IS THE BIBLE, I am no longer ignorant, but confident about which text is the correct one as a result of his excellent work written into this priceless book.

It seems the use of a version/update of a language not used when God's Word was written down (The Bible) would be seen as a non-starter by anyone. The issue is what does man (hunman being) desire in his flesh?......of course, that's pride in self and the reason for "Original Sin." There is nonthing new under the sun.....men/women want their ears waxed by what they want to hear!
