Publisher's Description

Evocative Contemporary Romance Set in a Charming Inn on Beautiful Prince Edward Island

In her kitchen at the Red Door Inn, executive chef Caden Holt is calm, collected, and competent. But when her boss asks her to show off their beautiful island to impress a visiting travel writer and save the inn, Caden is forced to face a world much bigger than her kitchen--and a man who makes her wish she was beautiful.

Journalist Adam Jacobs is on a forced sabbatical on Prince Edward Island. He's also on assignment to uncover a story. Instead he's falling in love with the island's red shores and Caden's sweets.

When Caden discovers Adam isn't who she thought he was, she realizes that the article he's writing could do more than ruin the inn's chances for survival--it might also break her heart.

Readers will discover hope for the hurting, joy for the broken, and romance for the lonely at the enchanting Red Door Inn.

This is the second book in the Prince Edward Island Dreams series set at The Red Door Inn. Though Marie and Seth, Aretha and Jack, from the first book make appearances, this is definitely Caden's story. A friend of Marie's, Caden is now the chef at the inn. She's lived on PEI all her twenty-seven years and loves it. Caden often feels she doesn't measure up to those around her, in looks or abilities. Those who eat her food consider her a terrific cook. Adam Jacobs is a reporter on sabbatical after his last assignment in the Middle East ended in tragedy. He's carrying a load of guilt from that and the death of his parents eight years before. He bonds with Caden over early morning coffee and cinnamon rolls. Adam also has an assignment from his editor to dig up a story that could end up hurting Marie and the inn, and in turn, Caden. I found it really refreshing to have a "heroine" who deals with insecurities, especially regarding her body image, and still finds love with a handsome "hero." Every woman who feels a little less than perfect needs an Adam in her life!

Where Two Hearts Meet is Caden Holt's story. A baker and chef, she is as unsure of herself as she is sure that PEI is the only place in the world for her. Adam Jacobs has been sent to the B&B she works at on an enforced vacation. Traumatized by events he experienced while embedded with a military unit in the Middle East, he thinks he doesn't have a choice, while Caden and the rest at Red Door Inn are convinced he's the journalist who will save the inn. The small town charm and characters from the prior book along with a nemesis for Caden and enough sparks to keep romance readers engaged. Caden has to choose whether to believe someone can actually love her for who she is, while Adam has to learn to let go of events he can't control. I thoroughly enjoyed each page of Where Two Hearts Meet.

I know there are a lot of Anne of Green Gables fans out there. Well, this book is nothing like Anne, but it is set on Prince Edward Island so if you like Christian romance and you love Anne, youll want to read this.

Now, a proper review for the rest of us, those of us who read and enjoyed Anne but acknowledge there are other books.

Where Two Hearts Meet is the second book in Liz Johnsons Prince Edward Island Dreams series, following The Red Door Inn. No, you dont have to read The Red Door Inn firstI hadnt, and I dont feel I missed anything. Yes, I have bought it to read now.

The novel is set in The Red Door Inn, and centres around Caden, the chef with an inferiority complex, and Adam, a long-term guest at the inn who is suffering from guilt. He invades her kitchen while hunting for coffee, she lets him because she and her boss think hes a journalist from a big magazine who could breakor makethe inn. So we have two flawed individuals thrown into close proximity, neither of whom is prepared to share themselves with the other.

Caden is, in many ways, a difficult character to like. Shes one of the main viewpoint characters, and she comes across as a competent enough cook, but doesnt come across as a particularly engaging character. I was about halfway through the novel before I realised this is because she doesnt value herself, doesnt see anything in herself to value. She sees herself as a frightened failure.

But thats not how Adam sees her, and thats where the novel goes from solid to excellent: as we begin to see Caden through Adams eyes, and as Adam begins to thaw and become the person hes meant to be through Cadens influence, and the influence of others. Anyway, the story improved a lot once I made this connection.

Overall, Where Two Hearts Meet is a lovely story of discovery and redemption with a hint of mystery, and Im looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

This is Book #2 of the Prince Edward Island Dreams series. The story takes place at the Red Door Inn and continues the adventure from book #1 with the reader meeting Chef Caden Holt, friend of Marie who from the first book, restores the Inn. We get to know Chef Caden from her story of having to impress a writer that comes to town to doa review on the Inn. When Adam the writer comes to town, he is there for more then writing a review but doesn't tell anyone. The story continues of the relationship with Caden and Adam that keeps you reading to find out what is going to happen....

I would recommend this to those that have read book #1 as this story is just as interesting and a great read. It is one that will keep you reading to find out wherethe characters will end up, makes you cheer for them. If you haven't read book #1 you can still read this one, but you will want to go back and read #1 because this series is that good and worth it. Book #3 comes out in the summer of 2017, can't wait to read it.

Where Two Hearts Meet is the story of a self-doubting woman who never believes she's good enough and a man overwhelmed by guilt after witnessing death at close hand. Readers first met Caden in the first book of the Prince Edward Island Dreams series, when she uncertainly asked the main character to be a taste tester for her. The two women became friends and Caden now works behind the scenes to ensure her friend's business serves up food to remember. But all could be for naught if the money runs out, and only a glowing review from an anonymous travel writer. She and her boss both believe Adam is that writer, but Adam is a journalist with PTSD after being imbedded with the military in Afghanistan.

This novel is primarily a contemporary romance and there's little in the way of suspense or drama. Caden's biggest problem, besides the inn's financial status, is the reappearance of a former classmate who's now a big name chef in Toronto. Insecure Caden feels there is absolutely no way she can compete with the woman and it does seem the townsfolk reinforce that at times. One line in particular stood out to me: "They were quick to accept her gifts. And just as quick to forget who gave them." And I suddenly thought, "We do that with God." I also have to mention minor character, Levi, who plays a major part of Adam's story. His history is a poignant one.

It does help to have read the first book in the series, The Red Door Inn. Not only does it give backstory to the inn's development, it also aids the reader in understanding why it's under threat. Another book is due to be published next summer, and an excerpt is included. I'll hopefully read it soon after it's released.

Thank you to Revell for my complimentary copy of Where Two Hearts Meet, which I received in exchange for my honest review.
