Where God Finds You is a great devotional book that will make you think. There are 40 different stories about some well-known people such as Joseph son of Jacob, Jesus' mother, Esther, Thomas, and Jezebel as well as some not so well-known people in the Bible such as the Queen of Sheba, Tabitha, Manoah, and Puah. Each devotional is broken down into 4 different parts-the story version, the scripture version, application from then to now, and questions for pondering the situation and applying it. I thoroughly enjoyed Anita's way of storytelling and life application. She puts everything into perspective while weaving the story from that character's perspective. I highly recommend this devotional to everyone.

This is such a unique devotional! I really enjoyed reading this. Anita Higman has taken different characters out of the Bible and written the devotion as if they were doing the talking. I love reading things written in 1st person point of view, so of course I really enjoyed this. Right after "their story" she has the actual Bible story. Then Anita has written something that she has gone through in her life to go along with their story. At the end, there are some questions to ponder.
I really enjoyed Anita's devotional. It has made me want to read some more books written by her. She is a very talented author. I would definitely recommend this devotional to anyone!

Unique devotional bringing Bible Charaters to life
April 30, 2013
Where God Finds You by Anita Higman
This was the most unique devotional I have ever read, I loved it. The author Anita Higman did an awesome job of bringing the characters to life. She took Bible characters and gave a narrative of the scripture from what their view point could have been. This was so thought provoking. Then she used scripture that pertained to the fictional story and gave a commentary from her point of view. If that was not enough she goes on to list study questions to help us think about the study. This devotional is a set of 40 Bible characters, both men and women. As often as I have heard the story of Joseph I never once thought how he might have felt, his fear, despair and hopelessness. To see how humbled the woman who washed Jesus feet was and how her shame turned to joy. My eyes were opened to the emotions of the Bible characters, this helped me to look deeper into the scripture it was referring too. This is a must read. The author brought a new perspective and insight into the Bible stories we have all read. I give this devotional 5 stars. I am thankful to The Book Club Network and the author for this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Although I've read about all of these people in the Bible, I never really connected to them and what their lives may have been like and what their thoughts were. I like the way the author told their stories in a way that could have actually been very close to the truth and then followed up with the story as written in the Scriptures. The book let me see that the people in the Bible were real and needed God as much as we all do. The questions are thought provoking.

Anita Higman wrote a wonderful devotional when she wrote Where God Finds You. The stories that I have heard for so long came alive for me by hearing the story of each character told as if they were sitting right here with me telling it. And then to reread it in scripture was very reflective. There are many devotionals but I have really enjoyed this one. The personal questions really make you stop and think, what would you do?
