Great storyline indeed! Nolan (a lawyer) has a wonderful rapport with his daughter Jilly (a genealogist). Past and present continually crisscross throughout the book. Suspense is present at every twist and turn. Olivia Newport reeled me in from the first page and I was totally hooked for the remainder of my journey through this enchanting tale. Olivia's writing style is superb. I loved this story. Enjoy!

Another story that should be a Hallmark mystery movie. Such well rounded characters, a daughter and father, genealogist and lawyer who loves to be a chef. There's part of their personal lives mixed in with the mystery to be solved from 1909. Very interesting story about a young lady who disappeared after a train ride to Denver, where she was going to sort out some fraud with her father's investments. Throw in some Pinkerton agents and villains and you've got a story to keep you well hooked all the way through. Excellent read, hard to put down. Makes you glad to come back to it each time, and miss it when you've finished it.

I received this book free from the publisher and NetGalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. #WhenIMeetYou #NetGalley

When I Meet You is Book Three in Olivia Newport's Tree of Life series and my favorite yet. The story is intriguing and delightful. I personally love family memorabilia, especially old photographs so this part of the story grabbed my attention. I have become invested in the likable characters in the Tree of Life series and I very much look forward to reading book four.

The story began with Nolan getting a phone call from a museum in Denver. Thinking this would be of great interest to Jillian he asked her to ride along to the museum. Once they arrived the curator took them to an abandoned trunk from 100 years ago. As they opened it to see what it contained it was like opening a time capsule. It had been untouched for the entire time it was in possession of the railway station. It had been shoved into storage and ignored since the day it had been abandoned.

As Jillian sorted through the trunk she began to realize it had been the trunk of a young woman, Lynelle Beneure, who was sent from Cleveland, Ohio to do business for her father. So many questions flooded Jillians mind as she began to unpack the trunk. She had several scenarios running through her mind, including the possibility of a nefarious end to this young woman. What would she find as she began to research the history of items and letters? Why was Lynelle in contact with a detective from Pinkerton National Detective Agency Denver office? What happened to her and why did her name just disappear from the public records?

Jillian becomes curious about an old trunk in her attic that her mother had left her because of this recent project. She had stashed it and ignored it for many years but the answers this curious abandoned trunk gave her made her more interested in digging through her own family history.

It is such a well written story. The format allows us to see the modern genealogical scenario that unfolds as Jillian learns more about the trunk. We also get to see the story of Lynelle that coincides with the modern day revelations as Jillian learns more about the trunk.

When I Meet You, a charmingly heartfelt story by Olivia Newport, is the third book in her Tree of Life series. Having read the first two books, I was looking forward to reading more about Jillian and her father, Nolan, as they uncover the heritage and history of individuals and families. A mystery arises when a museum owner asks them to look into the mystery of an abandoned steamer trunk, abandoned 100 years ago. Whose was it? Why was it never retrieved? Had something untoward happened to the owner? And are there descendants who would want the items in the steamer trunk alive now? Jillian was intrigued and not going to let go of her search until she had satisfactory answers. Readers are once again treated to a dual time story, one of my favorite types of stories. The dual timeline flows seamlessly and the stories finally blend together satisfactorily at the conclusion. The author has constructed strong vibrant characters that capture the heart of the reader. I really like Nolan who has added a chef hat to his many roles. He has agreed to cook for a fund raiser dinner for 200 people and the subplot surrounding this scenario adds a lot of interest to the story, even a romantic one, and who does not love a little romance. The plot moves quickly and the emotional tension and drama keep the pages turning quickly. I liked the casual flow of prose, with descriptive detail and a tad of humor that makes the reader feel right at home. At the end of the book the author included a teaser for the next book in the series, and I eagerly await the next ancestry adventure in this sereis.
