In this funny, all-too-human picture book, Mercer Mayer's famous Little Critter dreams of the day when he will be big enough to go to first grade, dial phone numbers by himself, camp out in the backyard, or walk to the corner store. By the end of his energetic daydreaming, Little Critter is so tired he has to go to bed. As he himself admits, "I'm not bigger yet." It's a fine and familiar catalogue of what young children yearn for.
Spend some time with Little Critters little sister as she imagines all the things she can be when she grows up in Mercer Mayers classic, funny, and heartwarming book. Whether shes dreaming of becoming a lion tamer, a famous doctor, or a brave pilot, both parents and children alike will relate to this beloved story. A perfect way to teach children to reach for the sky!
MERCER MAYER began writing and illustrating children's books in 1966, and since then, he has published over 300 titles. Readers can open almost any of his award-winning books and out may pop dragons, cuddly monsters, wonderful creatures, and endearing critters. Drawing from his own childhood adventures for inspiration, Mayer created one of childrens books most cherished characters, Little Critter. He currently lives in Connecticut.
