Every chapter includes contributions titled From His Point of View,” in which men share from their hearts what they want their wives to know. An uplifting and practical resource designed to strengthen marriage relationships!
Cindi McMenamin, an award-winning writer and national speaker, is the author of When Women Walk Alone (more than 100,000 copies sold) and Letting God Meet Your Emotional Needs. As a pastor’s wife, director of women’s ministries, and Bible teacher, her passion is to bring women into deeper intimacy with God. Cindi lives in Southern California with her husband, Hugh, and daughter, Dana.
McMenamin is well qualified to write a book on this subject matter she is a pastor's wife who has counseled women for more than 20 years. She has written numerous books, including When Women Walk Alone and When Couples Walk Together.
McMenamin asked her husband, "How can I be a woman who inspires you, who draws you closer, who makes you all you can be?" The list her husband wrote out in response became the Table of Contents for this book. Each chapter includes a section titled "From His Perspective," where her husband and other men respond to the chapter topic in their own words. This truly brings credibility to her work, as no one knows what men want more clearly than men!
Each chapter of this book also contains a section intended to take readers deeper into the lesson with questions for reflection, or practical tips on how to apply the concepts to their own lives. This book would be a great resource for a women's study group, couple's retreat breakout group, or personal study for women who want to build their relationships with their husbands. Recommended for married women or women contemplating marriage. Dr. Jan Wallace Reber, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

Tell us a little about yourself. I have been married nearly 25 years, have a daughter who is now in college and have been discipling women for nearly 30 years. I have written 11 books and speak across the nation, helping women develop strength for the soul. I love reading, writing and Jazzercise! : )
What was your motivation behind this project? For the past 10 years I've been receiving emails and letters from married women who read my book, "When Women Walk Alone, and wanted to know what they could do to make their husbands WANT to walk alongside them. I thought it was a good question for my own husband, as well as 50 other husbands I interviewed, who have been married 10-60 years. The results of my research are included in this book -- a handbook for wives on how to draw their husband's heart closer to their own.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is my hope that women will begin to focus on how they can love and affirm their husbands, rather than on how their husbands may be falling short in serving and affirming them. Amazing things happen in a marriage when wives get their focus off of their own needs in the marriage and start concentrating on meeting their husband's needs.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was a woman who often prayed "Change my husband, Lord." But I realized, finally, that God really wanted to change ME. This book outlines many of the ways God showed me (and other wives) what I can do to inspire him, serve him, love him more. And in doing these certain things, God either changed my husband's heart or he changed me to the point that I now see what my husband is doing RIGHT rather than focusing on how I want to change him. : ) The contents of this book basically transformed our marriage!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Bible, God's Word, is my first and best source of inspiration. In the area of marriage instruction and encouragement, I appreciate the works of Gary and Barb Rosberg, Gary Thomas, and John & Stasi Eldredge -- a few of the couples or authors I quoted in this book.
