DanaD5 Stars Out Of 5DelightfulFebruary 22, 2017DanaDQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Whatever is Lovely: A 90-Day Devotional.What a delightful book. Written in a voice that speaks to teens, this book encourages, challenges, exhorts and teaches in a simple, easy-to-understand way. "Whatever is Lovely" presents scripture in real ways and uses practical examples of how to apply Philippians 4:8 in your daily life. I found it direct and gentle and I highly recommend it for individuals or for use in teen groups. It would make a great gift.

Lightsupnorth5 Stars Out Of 5Perfect For the Teenage GirlJanuary 3, 2017LightsupnorthQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Whatever is Lovely: A 90-Day Devotional.The book, Whatever is Lovely, is a 90-Day Devotional Journal by Allia Zobel Nolan. This book is focused on the teenage girl as an audience. The cover is pretty, it contains a pretty purple book ribbon, and the inside printing is even done in purple. The only way I would think the appearance of this book could improve is if the pages had silver edges to add to its rich look.
Topics such as drugs, alcohol, love, self image, and dress are covered in straight forward devotionals. Each devotional contains a short story, a related bible verse, "food for thought" which is a question for the reader to reflect upon, "second thoughts" which suggests more to read in the topic, "divine thoughts" which is a prayer, and "your thoughts" where the reader can journal.
Words such as duh, phrases such as BFF, and rub elbows help to relate to the teenage lingo. There isn't a ton of space to journal, but there is enough to reflect upon each devotional.

My personal Rating- Four Stars
{Add 1-2 full stars for girls in Public School}
Being that Philippians 4:8 is one of my favorite verses and the Scripture that this blog is founded on, Ive been pretty excited to read this devotional! Its a very pretty edition, purple and watercolor style with a nice built-in ribbon bookmark. I, of course, loved when it would mention going to a Christian website to find clean books, movies & music. ;)
Because I was raised with the Hs capital when referring to God & Jesus, I wasnt a fan that the Scriptures were quoted using NLT, MSG, and NCV, and that they werent capital when talking about the Lord, but thats just my personal preference.
This devo is definitely more for younger public school girls, ages 7-12. School issues, friendship troubles and such are all mentioned/covered. So, even though it might be geared for younger girls, it still pointed out things to me that I need to work on myself. ;)
