Series: Misty Willow
A former Marine, Gabe is at loose ends after serving a prison sentence for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He sees beyond Amy's hard exterior to the girl he once knew and loved, and he longs to see her open her heart. Yet with his vision clouded by shame for his past and fears about the future, he finds it difficult to see the path ahead.
But the memory of that long-ago kiss just may have the power to reignite a romance that brings out the best in both of them.

Former boy-next-door Gabe returns to the only place that feels like home and unexpectedly discovers his first love living right across the road.
This sweet rural romance has an intriguing mystery thread and lots of down home country living fun. Readers will enjoy catching up with characters from the first two books while getting to know Amy and Gabe. What Hope Remembers is a lovely conclusion to the Misty Willow series!
I requested the opportunity to read this book through the publisher. The opinions expressed are my own.
JoyONew HampshireAge: 18-24Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A Lovely RomanceMay 22, 2017JoyONew HampshireAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What Hope Remembers is a sweet, lyrical story with surprising depth! Simply beautiful! This story is so full of spring and summer vibes, I can almost taste the cool breeze blowing through the luscious green grass and dainty willow trees. And I love the author's nods to Cary Grant and J. R. R. Tolkien! Also, if you're a fan of cowboys and horses, then this is another reason you will love What Hope Remembers.
Both Gabe and Amy need a fresh start. Amy has taken a lot of wrong turns on her journey, and after hitting her ultimate low, she gets a wake up call. She's desperate to change, but worried she can't - or won't - be able to change, and she thinks that maybe she doesn't deserve a happy ending. Gabe struggles with guilt, wishing he was able to do the past differently. He's no stranger to loss, rejection, or the stigma that accompanies his past. What Hope Remembers is a story of second chances and new beginnings as Gabe and Amy experience God's redemptive grace.
On a romantic note - because I love the romantic notes - I love, love, love stories of first love and/or unrequited love! It was so sweet seeing Gabe and Amy find their way back to each other in this sweet romance. *happy sigh*
Four Stars - A wonderful story! What Hope Remembers is the last book in Johnnie Alexander's Misty Willow Series. Even though this is a separate story, it builds off of the first two books, Where She Belongs and When Love Arrives, and has an intricate backstory, so I highly recommend reading the series in order.
I received a copy of What Hope Remembers by Johnnie Alexander from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. All opinions expressed are my own.
CafinatedReads20094 Stars Out Of 5An Excellent Story Of Second Chances!May 21, 2017CafinatedReads2009Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A story of redemption, second chances and characters that weasel their way into your heart to stay, Ms. Alexanders What Hope Remembers is fantastically done. I instantly transported to Misty Willow(which, in my mind, wasnt hard to do since I live in Willow Spring!) and settle right in for the long haul of Amy and Gabes story. I loved watching the story unfold and felt like I was among family.
Amy, Gabe and Aunt Tess are my favorites! I loved Gabe and Aunt Tess characters the most! They really fit well in the story. Amys character was also a great fit. I loved the way Ms. Alexander chiseled her and her flaws. Watching them come to terms with their past, present and their future really took my breath away, in a good way, of course! Gabes not so perfect past really opened my heart to him. I cant imagine going through what he went through, and the mama bear in me wanted to wrap him up in a big old hug!
From start to finish, youll be completely wrapped up and taken on a whirl wind ride of hope! It is the third book in the series, yet the first one I read. Its easily a stand alone novel and I highly recommend it, with 4 stars to all! Its a story of long ago loves, soul searching, learning to forgive yourself and trust in God. Great job, Ms. Alexander! Cant wait to read more of your books.

Britney Adams4 Stars Out Of 5What Hope RemembersMay 18, 2017Britney AdamsQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0It was such a pleasure to return to the community of Misty Willow! Having read the first two books in this series, I was eager to discover more about Amy Somers and delve deeper into her story. I enjoyed Amy's rekindled relationship with Gabe Kendall and the navigation of their dramatic journey. I also enjoyed revisiting beloved characters from previous stories. Heartfelt and emotional, What Hope Remembers is a lovely addition to a charming series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. No review was required, and all thoughts expressed are my own.
Specksbooks4 Stars Out Of 5EntertainingMay 15, 2017SpecksbooksQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4What Hope Remembers was surprising in a few ways. The other novels in the series have been full of depth, strong backstory, and entertaining plot. While the characters have had great affliction in their lives, and they seem to be dealing with big emotional issues, the book never has any really pull that makes you feel remorse, or connect with the characters. It was very entertaining, and it has a good plot, it just lacked the depth I like in a Johnnie Alexander novel. I would still recommend this book and will probably read it again it just wasn't what I expected.
I was given a complementary copy from the publisher.
