Tell us a little about yourself.  Steve Repak is a Certified Financial Planner™, Army veteran, financial literacy speaker, and author. Steve has helped many people turn their finances around with his inspiring financial literacy presentations and one-on-one financial coaching. Steve has been a frequent guest on Fox and Friends, Fox Business, The 700 Club, and CNN Headline News. He has been interviewed on NPR, Bloomberg Radio, Market Watch Radio, Wall Street Journal Radio, and many other national and regional shows. Steve’s work has been featured in Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily, BusinessWeek, New York Post, Chicago Tribune, MSN Money, Yahoo Finance, and USA Today. He is currently a contributor to the Equifax Finance Blog and The Life of a Single Mom Ministries. Steve was the 1995 Fort Bliss, Texas, Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management Communications from Amridge University. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and three children, where they attend Team Church.

What was your motivation behind this project?  After the success of his first book Steve felt God moving him in another direction to write a book aimed at helping other Christians apply biblical principles to their personal finances. Steve knew exactly what it felt like to live paycheck to paycheck, have nothing set aside for savings or retirement and spend countless sleepless nights because of the pressure he was feeling from the massive amount of credit card debt he had accumulated. Steve's bad money choices had left him in a dire financial predicament which he learned from greatly. Biblical and godly principles helped him to get out of that predicament and get his finances in good shape. Steve felt God leading him to help others by sharing the lessons he learned.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Most money issues relate to bad habits, and it takes six weeks of practicing a new behavior to break an old habit. In just 6 weeks, readers can turn their finances around by completing practical and achievable weekly challenges, such as creating a budget, making a plan to get out of debt, building credit, formulating a savings plan, calculating life insurance needs, and reviewing the estate planning documents that everyone, no matter their level of wealth, needs to have in place. To ensure that this boot camp is relevant to all readers, there is some flexibility built in, with readers invited to individually tailor the weekly challenges to accommodate their personal circumstances. Steve wants to challenge the readers to strengthen their commitment to actively managing their finances, God’s way.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Because of his combined military and financial background and his Christian faith, Steve brings a unique approach to the material that readers will surely find to be practical, engaging and motivational. Financial information and practical challenges are presented clearly, concisely, and simply, so this book requires no existing financial knowledge.
