Waters of Separation is one of those books that not only entertains you but takes you away to another spot in the world that is swathed in beauty and heartache. It took me on a gripping emotional ride, and I came to care deeply about the characters, especially Anna Haas as she cares for her African patients.

This braided journey of past and present takes Anna on a journey back to her own painful loss, something many women can relate to. The author also used a deft hand to tell the terribly and sad plight of people still being used in slavery today. But hope is stamped on every page. This book is not a downer, but uplifts.

The medical details are brilliantly woven in to this thriller. While this novel is a real page turner, it is also for readers who prefer a book that makes them think, and who enjoy novels of deep psychological and spiritual truth. I would not recommend this book to anyone younger than 16 but I do highly recommend it to all ages above and to male and female readers.

I was given this book free for my honest review.
