Gretchen uses Scripture and her own personal experiences/struggles to encourage women to seek Christ daily. She encourages women to put God first, to seek Him before we start our day. I love her slogan "Word before World". It's such a wonderful reminder of how important it is to have God's Word in our hearts because worldly distractions will come, and we need to be clothed in the armor of God. She teaches that if we abide in Him we will grow and flourish in Him. I feel like this book is written for women of all ages and all stages in life. Each of our prayer/quiet time will look different and that's ok as long as our hearts are truly surrendered and seeking Him. I highly recommend this book.

Gretchen talks real life struggles, fighting to see Jesus in all of it, and what being rooted in Jesus is. So refreshing and practical. Just what my thirsty soul needed at this particular time.

I have gotten to know and love the work of Gretchen Saffles through Bible studies on the Well Watered Woman website. I was excited when I found out that she was writing and publishing this book! This book has continually helped me look upward to Jesus and has been one that I have been excited to share with friends of all ages and all walks of faith!
