Tell us a little about yourself. I'm an International Speaker Certified with the John Maxwell Team, Author of Water In The Desert & the Soul H2O Devotional, taken from my blog. I'm a race car enthusiast, happily married to my artist hubby Todd Stahl; author of 40 Days In The Man Cave. Todd and I co-founded Take The 40 Day Challenge website where individuals can sign up to receive 40 days of emails that coincide with the devotions in our books to help build or enhance the habit of personal daily devotions in a fun engaging way. Church Challenges now available!
What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation truly was to follow what God was directing me to do when I felt him say, "Well then, get off this couch and begin doing what I've called you to do." It was time to stop weeping and put my faith into action.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope this book will help people travel through the desert and not stay there. Too many people get stuck in the desert. I want them to gain a deeper understanding of God's Word and the interesting people it talks about. To see them as people they can relate to, not like characters in a play. I pray the Study Guide helps bring scripture alive for them!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This book changed my life. I wrote it when my daughter was going through the deepest part of her depression. God used it to strengthen my heart as I wrote. The book has now taken me places I dreamed of visiting to share the message of God's promise to provide Water In The Desert. My book has gone places I've never been and reached people I'll most likely never meet, until heaven that is. Since the release of Water In The Desert God has seen fit to re-open the doors for me to minister as I felt He called me to at the tender age of 19. I am forever changed and forever grateful for the second chance in life on so many levels.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The biggest influence on my spiritual journey is hands down my grandma Pearl who I dedicate this book to. Authors who have inspired me are Peggy Kennedy, Kay Arthur, Joyce Meyers, Lisa Bevere, Karol Ladd, Jennifer Strickland, Sue Detweiler, Stormie Omartian, Sheila Wray-Gregoire, Sarah Bessey and a few guys named Max Lucado, John Maxwell, Joel Osteen and Mark Batterson. Christian Recording Artists that helped me travel through the desert times: Natalie Grant, Mandissa, Toby Mac, Kari Jobe, Matthew West, Laura Storey and Kerrie Roberts to name only a few. Music is a BIG part of my life
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I want readers to know that God provides water in the desert. He is with you in the desert times. You're not alone and God's Word can help you travel through the desert to victory! Isaiah 43:18-21
