War on the Saints is a classic book on spiritual warfare that grew out of the celebrated Welsh Revival--an international renewal that impacted hundreds of thousands around the world and brought about a striking transformation of society. This work contains a wealth of knowledge and experience to warn and inform the church today. It provides crucial insights about the enemy's deceptions and lies that bring defeat, discouragement, and ineffectiveness to Christians.
JESSIE PENN-LEWIS (18611927) was an English evangelist and author. Evan Roberts, who was instrumental in the Welsh revival in the early 1900s, stayed with Mrs. Penn-Lewis and her husband for a time and contributed to this book. As an eyewitness to the revival, Penn-Lewis wrote War on the Saints to counter what she perceived as the excesses of the revival and the deceptions of Satan at work to prevent the true work of God in awakening. Mrs. Penn-Lewis also established and edited the periodical The Overcomer. War on the Saints is considered the authoritative textbook on spiritual warfare by many Christians.
