LisaAlberta, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5did not like the storyDecember 19, 2013LisaAlberta, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1I was very disappointed in this book. To me this was not a character building story. Although there are some good values, the overall 'redemptive' story left me disappointed. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

For anyone who has not had to deal with alcoholism this book lays it out clearly - the struggles, the insecurities, the decisions, the available help, the disciplines, etc. It was a very interesting read!
sherril2291VirginiaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5January 22, 2013sherril2291VirginiaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A very insightful look into the inside world of someone struggling with an addiction and marital struggles, and how other people's expectations and opinions have a profound impact on the decisions made by those struggling if and when to seek help. It is realistic and inspiring in that at the end of the day, no one can help us until we decide we are worth helping for our own sake.
MegSSouth AfricaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A book with depthJanuary 22, 2013MegSSouth AfricaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Walking on Broken Glass" is not a book that you say you enjoyed, as it is a hands-on description of alcohol addiction. A very real, gripping read about a woman with issues in her life (and who doesn't have issues?). The details of rehab showed that it is a hard experience, and that once the person is out of rehab they have to show remarkable courage in order to begin functioning properly again. Above all, this book gives us a picture of a loving, merciful God, who loves every single one of us.
I would highly recommend this book.
