I would recommend all of Ray Vanderlaans studies...His DVD's are excellent ...this one I loved so much I watched it three times and was doing the study but knew of a family that this would be very meaningful with prayer and the interaction that only God is capable of so gave it to them and asked them to do it together as a family and they are ...they are excellent for small study groups weaving in the culture and landscape to the present meaning ...always leaving room for meditation and food for individual thought ...I wish I ad all of them but will continue to purchase them as I go and doubt I will ever have them all as a set because they can not be shared enough!!! I would recommend as a yes, yes and a hundred times yes!!
Have used several in this series and have very much liked all of them, but this newest entry in the That the World May Know Series is especially powerful - perhaps because Ray is talking from the perspective of his own "walk through the desert with God"!
I highly recommend use for any small groups wishing to be challenged by the reality of God.
We use these studies in our bible study at the apartment complex where we live and have a CARES ministry. They just want to keep seeing them over and over! We have nine of the videos and CD's and appreciate Dr. Vander Laan's ministry and expertise in deliverance.
The desert in God's Word, now has a clear meaning!

Our Men's Bible Study group admires Ray Vander Laan and the work he has accomplished through his visits to Turkey, Israel, etc., but when we began this study in the desert lands, we were not sure that this was one of Ray's better issues to cover. After we were about 3 lessons into the DVD and guide book, the lessons came alive and we then realized the direction Ray was taking us in the lessons. As usual, in Ray's style of sharing the Word of God, a revelation was realized by the members of our group and the scriptures that we have read many times before shed a new light on just how important the desert was and is to the Word of God. Ray also tied in how we too go through desert times in our lives and how God gives us just enough to get us through each day. Because of Ray's teaching, Psalm 23 which I learned by memory as a child in Sunday School many years ago now has a more powerful meaning for me.
