The Walk is designed to be used as much as read. It will be helpful to someone who wants to read on his own, but also includes readings and projects that will make it useful as a workbook for that individual, in a mentor relationship, or for use in groups. The division into twelve chapters is designed to fit a typical Sunday School quarter.

Steve Smallman has drawn on a lifetime of pastoral ministry to provide the church with a gem of a book which, while aimed specifi cally at the unbeliever and the new Christian, will yet benefi t even those older in the faith. Carl R Trueman, Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia
Lots of people have a heart for discipleship, but few have the ability to apply the gospel to a persons spiritual journey (seeker and believer alike) with the compassion and wisdom of Steve Smallman. His heart for God and for people energizes his ministry and this book.
In this book, Steve Smallman has drawn on a lifetime of pastoral ministry to provide the church with a gem of a book which while aimed specifically at the unbeliever and the new Christian, will yet benefit even those older in the faith who take time to read it and be reminded of, and refreshed by, the great, simple truths of the life changing gospel.
Basic, clear, and biblical throughout, this book is the product of a life that has been lived in the gospel and in the company of gospel champions whose influence blows across every page. All who read this book will have their knowledge of the gospel deepened, and they will also learn to make better use of the gospel in their pursuit of holiness and ministry to others. May Christ continue to bless His church with books like this!
Stephen Smallman has given us a great gift with this book. It's now the first resource I'd recommend for disciples wanting to make disciples (which should be all of us). Marked by good theology, a focus on the Bible, and a warm and winsome approach, this "discipleship for dummies" manual is just what all of us need.
ek5 Stars Out Of 5The Walk: Steps for New and Renewed Followers of JesusDecember 29, 2014ekQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5We have been using this book over the last couple of years with an increasing number of members in our church with the goal of challenging them to reconsider their faith. It has also been a valuable means of sharing their faith with a culture that has accepted an anemic form of conversion. The impact has been encouraging. Not only have there been those who came to the studied opinion they were never actually converted, we have also seen a rise in those who are sharing a much more robust faith--a life commitment as opposed to closing a sales pitch.
