I loved this novel. It is the fourth one in the Waters of Time series and honestly, I thought it was the best one. I have read the previous books and I think this one would stand alone, since the author writes the story from the point of view of a different character, but I would say you will enjoy all of them so why not start at the beginning. But why is this my favorite. Well, it seemed like there was a greater emphasis on God. Then, although I do not believe in time travel but what if there was. The author addresses that in the book with the lead character, Dawson, telling Phillippa, when she asks if he thinks that Providence brought them together, Since God is outside of time and space, I think he can do anything.

This novel is a fun way to explore the what-if and to see England in 1382 through the eyes of a modern British man. I felt a little bad for Dawson, here he is a war veteran in his world but does not know how to use a sword in medieval England. There were so many instances in the book where I really chuckled at his awkwardness in a time almost 650 years in the past. He also attempts to explain modern conveniences to medieval young woman that he is quickly falling in love with. Yes, this is definitely a romance novel with lots of clean romance. Altogether, I just loved it and highly recommend it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am freely writing a review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
