The corresponding activity books (sold separately) feature lots of projects, comprehensive questions, mapping, timelines, games, and crafts. Also included is a helpful reading list of fiction and nonfiction titles to enrich your childs understanding of the time period.
Tests are sold separately, too, for parents who want to see how students are retaining the material.
My kids and I loved reading together and doing the projects. With so many great stories and activities to enjoy, there is something for everyone. This program can be used by the whole family to learn together! Approx. 350 pages each, softcovers.
JG5 Stars Out Of 5SOW vol 3November 22, 2016JGQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3We love these series. They are very well written and easy for children to understand. We used to accompany what we were doing in our CC community each week and also use the activity guide and cd. They are worth every penny!
Janice Englehart5 Stars Out Of 5July 15, 2008Janice EnglehartI love the Story of the World series. My kids are always asking for more. This is an excellent presentation of world history and I would add an unbiased account. Bauer has really done us all a great service with her easily accessible series.
stephanie5 Stars Out Of 5May 26, 2008stephanieThis is our second year using Story of the World - and we have really enjoyed using it! I read aloud from the book (my sister lets the littles listen to the stories on cd), and we do the review questions, and a written narration afterwards - there are tons of fun activities (dressing up, games, crafts, cooking (which seems to be the favorite so far - all the recipes have turned out really well!) - I also like the coloring sheets - even my older children color them, and they are good fine motor practice for my eldest, whose handwriting is abysmal :). We've got out a ton of great books to go along through interlibrary loan, learned a whole bunch i wasn't taught in school, and this is probably our favourite part of the homeschool day...
