Product Description

Just the word "Virtuous" is intimidating and seems impossible to achieve. This book tells 15 true stories of six modern day virtuous women "in the making," and nine biblical women who all had similar problems and vices like infidelity, drunkenness, arrogance, selfishness, attempted suicide, and so on. Each woman embodies attributes of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. Helpful hints are sprinkled throughout the book and the author has included study questions and prayers to encourage women of all ages in their journey.

This is a wonderful book for small group or individual study for those looking to become more like the woman described in Proverbs 31:10-31. Open this book to begin a journey of discovery learning who these women are and how you can grow in your relationship with God and become a virtuous (not perfect) woman.

Via Dan Cole, author of What Faith and Love Can Do:

In the opening of this book Denise Cornelius sets the stage by offering as her credentials a first person account of her life . From here she reaches into the Bible and modern day to point to women of faith, who, like all women including herself, have lives filled with struggles. She is able to remove the burden of perfection and allow women to see their own virtues while leaving perfection as a gift from God himself reserved for the end of life. Well done!

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I was born in South Carolina, raised in New Jersey, spent the better part of 20 with the U.S. Navy either as an active duty participant, or as a Navy spouse. Moving around a lot in my lifetime has given me a greater perspective to embrace change, readily accept differences in cultures, and fully appreciate the sheer artistry and beauty of God's Creation.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I have always had a secret desire to write since I was a young child. In 2005, the Proverbs 31 woman caught my eye during personal bible study one day. She fascinated me because I caught a visual in my mind's eye of a woman who was elegant, beautiful to the core, smart, savvy, and genuinely loved by all who were graced with her presence. I asked God to show me how to be that woman for my son and my husband...years later, HE did!

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Simply stated, ALL women who are at least 15 years of age and older will be able to relate to the testimonials given in this work on some level. I is my sincere prayer that every reader around the world will realize two things: 1) just as God never changes, neither has the virtuous woman throughout all of these generations, even until now; and 2) every woman who has accepted the Lord's invitation to be His Bride will realize she, too, is a virtuous woman in the making.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Everyday before I sat down to write, I met with God on my back porch with a cup of hot coffee and conversation. Before my hands would touch my keyboard, I asked the Father if HE would be willing to write the next chapter with me. I began to see and hear God speak to me in ways I never have before. HE literally stopped me for breaks, guided me to websites I needed for resources, and to this day, I am still trying to remember how I ended up with my publisher {laughing}. The whole experience has been so incredible because I got to spend an inexhaustible amount of time with God and got to know HIM on a very real, but deeply spiritual and powerful way that I could have never imagined.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I know that it's been preached time and again about walking in faith, stepping out in faith, living a holy life, etc. I really encourage my readers to give some time and thought to really talking with God about HIS plans for you. HE says in HIS Word that HE has known you since the foundation of the earth and knows HIS plans for you. No one knows the mind of God, but God; therefore, in order for you to fulfill your Manifest Destiny to honor HIM, you must first find out FROM HIM, what that Destiny is and how to get there.
