Editorial Reviews

"We don’t need more wonders in the world; we just need a greater sense of wonderment! In Village Life, Angela Correll contemplates the beauty, hospitality, generosity, and priceless shalom of her adopted Tuscan home. Overflowing with stunning photographs and candid reflections, Correll encourages us to stop and behold the miracles surrounding us—no matter where we call home."
—Matthew Sleeth, M.D., author of Reforesting Faith and executive director of Blessed Earth

"It’s rare to find a book that is so much more than simply an inspiring read, but an invitation into a genuine experience. Angela has brilliantly captured, deciphered, and lovingly offered the very heart of Italian culture to readers—like a delightful aperitivo served to friends after a long day. Simply said, Village Life beautifully encompasses the concepts that matter most in any culture, especially in Tuscany. This book is one you’ll want to keep nearby, referencing time and time again!"
—Terrica Joy Smith, founder of Eden & Vine

"Angela Correll’s beautifully moving book is a genuine gift; she takes her experiences of village life in Tuscany and makes of them ways to enhance our own lives right here at home. The result is a deeper understanding of the pace, food, community, and simplicity of Tuscan life—and of our own as well."
—Bret Lott, author of Gather the Olives

"Angela Correll is an astute observer of the art of living. This is a book about the blessings of a slower pace and the palpable joy of falling in love with a new place and its people. She shares the framework of intentionally discovering new ways of comings and goings that engage, envelope, and educate. The stories and recipes make one want to rush to Tuscany, open up the senses, and bask in the land, hospitality, and rituals."
—Lois Mateus, president of Tallgrass Farm Foundation

"Angela’s gift for describing and displaying beauty through her words and photographs, and her love for all things Italian, come together magnificently in her latest book, Village Life. Through gorgeous pictures, descriptions, recipes, and stories, you will feel like a part of your heart is also deeply connected to Tuscany. It makes you want to expand your world and try a new recipe, learn a few more words in Italian, and experience the dolce vita!"
—Kim Moeller, CEO of Sage Life and philanthropic advisor

"This book is an encouragement to create our own village life wherever we live. Themes of generosity, artistry, community, and hospitality are inspirational and lead to a natural focus on people rather than accumulating things."
—Howard Dayton, founder of Crown Financial Ministries and Compass Financial Ministries

"’Need drove me to Tuscany.’ With those five words, my imagination was fully engaged. In this deeply personal book, Angela takes us on a journey, venerating the people, traditions, artisans, land, food, and wine of her beloved Montefollonico. While Village Life in its innovative layout is a delight for the eyes, its introspective contents are a balm for the soul. It makes me long for a cold, snowy, wintery day with a warming fire, a glass of Italian wine, and my favorite chair to savor this wonderful book!"
—Thomas Walter Kelley, author of Made in Italy

"Village Life transports the reader to a charming Italian village where a visitor can learn not only about local customs but also about how to appreciate life. Angela Correll immerses readers in the vitality of this place and as I neared the end of the book, I felt like I was creeping toward the last day of a transformative vacation. I’ll gladly revisit this village by experimenting with the recipes and trying to recreate this gratitude for the people and places surrounding us."
—Beth Dotson Brown, author of Rooted in Sunrise

"If you have ever traveled to Italy or hope to do so in the future, this is a wonderfully fun introduction to life in a Tuscan village. Angela’s unique ’Kentuscany’ perspective is life-giving. I found myself smiling often while wanting to hop on the next plane to Italy to experience the insights I’ve gained through Angela’s pithy observations, remembrances, and anecdotes."
—Todd Harper, cofounder of Generous Giving
