Inkwell Reviews4 Stars Out Of 5Review from inkwellreviews.comJanuary 2, 2017Inkwell ReviewsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4When I saw this book was coming out I was really excited on what Lisa Harris had to bring to the table. I had read her first series and was not that impressed. (exception to the third book, that one was worth the read.) The first thing I want to touch base on is that it is a trilogy, meaning it leaves you craving for the next book and has the same main characters. Now, I have read many books in my day and have read VERY few that can pull this style off. In most of them it felt like it was dragging on and on without resolution. Vendetta did not fall in this category. I had never read a book in which it flowed so smoothly into the next one. I felt closure at the end but it still, like I said, left me craving for the next book. Or in my case, marking it on the calendar when the next one was going to be released. I was very impressed with that area.
As far as character devolvement, terrible. Let me explain. Lisa Harris has to fit plot and character development, good pace, romance etc. in a book that is only two-hundred and eighty-eighty pages when a normal suspense novel is about three-hundred and fifty. So in some respects she had to cram. Which is not bad, but does not leave room for things such as getting to know the character in detail. Also, Nikkis relationship with God always seemed about herself. Instead of relying on God to help her persevere through the difficult time, it always seemed centered around her. Maybe thats not what Lisa Harris was trying to convey, its just the impression I got.
Another thing that stood out to me was the pace. I don't know about you but I love a good buckle-down-because-this-book-is-not-stopping-until-the-end" kind of book. I found myself not wanting to put it down. A whirlwind of excitement.
To sum it all up I think it was definitely worth the read. If you like your books to be very detailed and thorough this would not be my first suggestion. But I still think, no matter your genre of books you should give it a try.
Hope you found this helpful.
Jen PenMidwest4 Stars Out Of 5Excellent start to a new suspense series...October 20, 2016Jen PenMidwestQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4SUMMARY:
As a detective with the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force, Agent Nikki Boyd takesher jobpersonally. With the abduction of herown sister years earlier, Nikki suspects there may still be a link to her sister with the current abduction. Needing the help of her friend, Tyler Grant, both Nikki and Tyler discover more than surprises connected to the case but also to their own hearts
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Definitely a great start to a new suspense series, Vendetta is full of surprises, twists, loss, faith, hope and romance. Though a common theme or storyline found in other novels, author Lisa Harris handles it well. Keeping my interest while the pages turned, I finished this book in just a few days. Even when the clues became obvious, the direction spun and kept me engaged. Fast, clean, well writtenand fun, I enjoyed this non-stop suspenseful novel to the end.

Nikki Boyd has worked tirelessly for ten years to solve the mysterious circumstances surrounding her younger sister's abduction and subsequent disappearance, so when another young woman's case eerily mirrors her own, Nikki's extensive training as a member of the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force forcefully kicks in. Someone is taunting her, dropping clues and mercilessly masquerading evidence. Through it all, one person remains at her side, best friend Tyler Grant.
As Tyler and Nikki combine skills, combat personal regrets, and sense a subtle shift in relationship, a teen-ager's life hangs in the balance while a serial killer remains on the loose. Will a cold case suddenly turn red hot, or will a hot case turn bitterly cold?
Lisa Harris has written an award worthy debut novel in her emerging "Nikki Boyd Files" series; easily earning five stars and making me hope that time passes quickly while we await a summertime sequel.

Deana5 Stars Out Of 5Intense ActionJanuary 25, 2016DeanaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The day Nikki Boyds' life changed forever was the day her sister Sarah turned up missing ten years ago. It is not something you forget or get over. As a special agent for the Tennessee Missing Persons a task Firce, Nikki now finds people for a living. She likes her job and along the way, she hopes to find out what happened to her sister. The not knowing is the hardest thing to live with. You can let your imagination go crazy, but she needs to stay grounded.
One day while off work Nikki get a call that a girl is missing. With the help of her friend Tyler they start their investigation . As they dig deeper into the case, Nikki finds a link to her sister's case. The question is could this be the same person who took both her sister and the missing girl they are investigating? I loved the action and the twists and turns of the story. The character development is quite good and the intense scenes are a sure way to keep the reader intrigued . It is not a book you want to put down, until the last page is read.
The relationship between Nikki and Tyler is a definite attention grabber. As the story continues, you feel like you are in a maze trying to find your way out. Just as you think you have the mystery figured out, you hit a dead end and the the suspense builds until you find yourself on the edge of your seat . The author has done an amazing job of writing a story that grips you from the beginning and takes you on a roller coaster ride of sheer intrigue at its very best.
