I didn't necessarily have any expectations for this book other than being family friendly.
CiuCiu devotes four weeks to the study of Jesus' names through Scripture. Each week begins with a celebration. This part consists of prayer, candle lighting, scripture, Q&A, and songs. Then each day provides a brief and simple study of a name of Jesus. After the 5 day studies are complete, you end with an activity section that includes simple ideas for families to continue the celebration of Advent.
I typically lean towards studies that are very in depth, but CiuCiu presents a very simple approach to studying the names of Jesus. This simplicity allows the study to be used in families with young children and still be exciting.
I appreciated that the study of names was sandwiched in-between a time for deep, soulful celebration and fun, engaging celebration. It allows your heart and mind to prepare appropriately and also to enjoy who Jesus is.
It's a very simple and easy devotional to use for families.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Bec5 Stars Out Of 5Great to read all year longFebruary 5, 2019BecQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Have you ever wondered how many names there are for Jesus? There is a book called, "Unwrapping the Names of Jesus" by Asheritah Ciuciu. This is an amazing book that is centered on the advent season. It is divided into four weeks and has the traditional advent themes; preparation, joy, love, and hope. The book is lightweight and very eye catching. It is a great addition to your Christmas dcor when you set it on a mantelpiece for others to pick up and read.
I feel this book is great to read and work through during the advent season. It prepares our hearts for the day that Jesus will arrive. However, I do not feel that this book should be shared just around Christmas time. I feel that this book can be read any time of the year. It's great to keep our hearts set on the coming of Christ all year round. The author gives you thoughtful questions throughout the book that would make this a great Bible study for you and your family to work through. Take a look for yourself and see the wonderful activities, scripture and names of Jesus that are mentioned in this book.
Please note: I received this book in exchange for my honest review from Moody Publishers. All thoughts in my review are my own.

Not to mention, I'm a fan of Asheritah Ciuciu. The book's presentation is absolutely stunning. I love the pops of gold foil mixed with red and white as it definitely has the Christmas vibe going. The hardcover was well crafted with beautiful pages. Easy to write within the book, but I'd say give your pen time to dry or it will smudge.
The actual devotionals are beautifully written. I'm a fan of interactive books -- books that get you involved by asking questions, giving challenges, giving you extra bits to check out online and so forth. This book offers it all PLUS prayers and various scriptures.
I love that this is broken into 4 weeks and 5 days per week with an introduction to the week and closing activities to partake in. I found that I enjoyed doing this with family and friends as it allowed us to bond and study scripture together.
I highly recommend this beauty!
By Quiet WatersFront Range ColoradoAge: 45-545 Stars Out Of 5Thankful for the simplicity of Unwrapping the Names of Jesus.January 18, 2018By Quiet WatersFront Range ColoradoAge: 45-54Quality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0A couple of years ago I received, in ebook form, Unwrapping the Names of Jesus by Asheritah Ciuciu. This advent devotion is so good, and I am thrilled to have a hardback print copy of the book now.
The table of contents is divided by weeks and days, rather than by chapters, in keeping with the rhythm of Advent observance. And there are activities for each week. One thing I love about this devotion is that each item, while quite simple, is deeply satisfying or stirring. Depending on where the reader is in their own journey, one can take the devotions simply, or dig deeper. I find the Christmas season can be very hectic and over stimulating, so I am particularly thankful for the simplicity of Unwrapping the Names of Jesus.
Unwrapping the Names of Jesus is an advent devotion, but dont let that limit you! I am keeping this book in the short stack with my Bible. Each devotion is short, but steeped in rich exposition of Biblical passages. There are more Scriptures listed for each devotion, for deeper study. Once a week or so, I will be pulling this book off the stack to continue reading and pondering the character of Jesus through His names, through the winter months.
For some years now, Ive read the authors blog, One Thing Alone, and greatly appreciate Asheritahs love for Gods Word and His people.
