We loved the colored pages, which were loaded with historical photos, maps and charts. This book was similar in layout as Unveiling the Kings of Israel, and both resources share how archaeology confirms the biblical timeline. One of my favorite parts of the book is the timeline section at the beginning of each chapter, the graph shows the placement of biblical history along side the history of Egypt. So it's easy to see that King Khufu was ruling when Abraham visited Egypt in Genesis 12:10.

The only 'con' that comes to mind is of the Egyptian culture, this book does not hide the paganism that was deeply imbedded in society. Some graphics may need additional clothing, depending on family preference.

I would recommend Unwrapping the Pharaohs for the high school student and adult, possibly for younger children depending upon your personal convictions. Truly a wonderful resource for history.

I have been fascinated with archaeology since I was a little child. But much like the questions I had about where dinosaurs fit into the Bible, I felt that the Scriptures must have been in error because the Egyptian chronologies didn't line up with the stories of the Bible. Praise the Lord for those who have taught me differently...using Scriptures and books such as this one. If you have ever questioned the authority of Scripture based on archaeology or accepted timelines and chronologies, you must purchase this book. The photos are great, and the information is mind-blowing. A bonus DVD is included with my book, but I've not had time to review it yet...

This is a fascinating book. Very, very well written. I would reccomend it in a heart beat. I am ordering a second copy to use as a witnessing tool to someone who said they were into the study of pyramids.

I bought this book for my 8th grader to read independently as we study Ancient Egypt. I was up till midnight reading it because I couldnt put it down!! my daughter begs to read more than her assigned amount! Really fascinating!! It was full of color photographs, which was an added bonus that I was not expecting. the dvd that comes with it is not History channel quality, but it is very interesting and informative!! it held the attention of my children!!
