Product Description

This book is for anyone sitting in the audience who should be on stage, anyone reading blogs who should also be writing them, anyone supporting ministries who should be leading them. It's for the Christians who know there is a better life, but who are just stuck in the one they're living.

Saved in the Jesus Movement of the seventies, Chris DuPre connected with countless Christians across the world. Yet too many of those Christians, Chris discovered, have years later lost the fire and stepped back from living out their faith. Why? Because they got stuck--stuck in rejection by others, stuck in fear of the unknown, stuck in loving a comfortable life, stuck in scores of similar ruts. What can set them free from their internal prisons? And what could Christians accomplish if we all just got unstuck?

Editorial Reviews

"Unstuck! What a great title and what a great book! As a pastor and leader I’ve seen countless people who, for one reason or another, have become ’stuck.’ Chris DuPré’s book, Unstuck, not only goes to the heart of why so people can’t move forward, it gives voice to the struggle as well as hope for the heart. Chris has been a dear friend for over twenty-five years. I’ve seen him wrestle with things that others might use as an excuse to remain stuck, and yet he found in God what was needed to triumph and to move on to what God had next for him and for his family. Chris’ pastoral heart and insight come through so clearly in his latest book. I recommend Unstuck to anyone needing wisdom, vision, and hope on this journey called life."
—Mike Bickle

"It is remarkable that as a generation with unprecedented opportunities, so many of us have believed the lie that we simply "can’t." However, the Word of God never returns void. (See Isaiah 55:11.) Unstuck is a wonderful reminder of the promises of Jeremiah 29:11—that the Lord has plans and purposes for our future, which will be fulfilled if we persevere. Our Father says that we can! We just need to hold on to hope, by faith and patience, and press through the hurdles that try to hinder us. Knowing our identity as overcomers in Christ, we inherit the promises. Through his personal stories and anecdotes, Chris DuPré exhorts us that it is possible to break through the facades of fear, rejection, delay, intimidation by the unknown, and more. Unstuck is a gift to believers in all seasons of life, inspiring them to believe again that though we may face challenges and feel knocked down, as the righteous we get back up, seven times over! (See Proverbs 24:16.)"

"Chris DuPré has written a deeply powerful work inspired by the Holy Spirit that sets people free. It is one of those books that we need to read over and over and let the words sink in deeply to our hearts to bring change and healing in our lives. I love it!"

"Perhaps you have wondered why you are not more highly motivated or why you don’t go for greater fulfillment in life. Can this be changed? Yes! Unstuck by Chris DuPré will help you! Chris explains how beliefs held in the heart such as fear, rejection, and pride, act like quicksand, keeping us from rising to our potential. Discouragement sets in, and we back off. But if you honestly face your issues, you can get unstuck and go for your dreams. Well done, Chris; the nation and the world need this message desperately."

"When Jesus was asked questions concerning the issues of life, He would often tell stories. Some of those stories are called parables—real or fictional illustrations with applications for understanding life and how things really work. Similarly, Chris DuPré, a collector of wisdom and a master storyteller, has packed the pages of Unstuck with real-life experience and insight. He writes with delightful transparency that makes wisdom easy to find. This is a book to read and share. If you don’t need ’unsticking,’ then surely your friends and family do!"

"Is there something holding you back? Is there an impossibility in front of you today? Here’s the way out—the way to be unstuck. Chris DuPré has given you an amazing toolbox of revelation to set you free from any and every disappointment life could throw at you. With an amazing flair for communicating, Chris presents truths that will keep you thinking for days after you have finished reading it. I loved hearing him share so candidly about his life journey—a journey that hasn’t always been a piece of cake. You should know that once you pick up this book, it will next to impossible not to finish it. You are going to enjoy getting Unstuck! Thank you, Chris, for being so real and honest that each one of us can identify with our need to be unstuck."

This book really does give some good ideas on how to become unstuck. It shows how to get out of some ruts. It tells you to not get down but to get moving. Do something instead of going stagnant. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Have you ever been in a church service and the pastor is saying profound words that make you poke the person next to you? You feel what the pastor is saying is something your friend needs to hear so you elbow them as if to say,Hey this message is for you. This book is just that type of message, but instead of elbowing your neighbor, you realize the message is for you. The author is upfront with how we get stuck in our life wondering why our dreams never happened. Perhaps it was pride or fear or that unforgiveness you have buried deep inside . I figured I better get comfortable because this book was going to step on my toes and hurt a bit, but in the end I would be free from being stuck.

One of the first subjects the author talks about is fear. Oh how I dislike talking about that word. I grew up in fear. I know it well and it has followed me throughout my life. I have always had a fear of not being loved and being rejected by everyone. Growing up in a violent and abusive home can really do a lot of damage to a child. I never knew what it felt like to be loved. My parents made sure I knew I wasnt loved. I became stuck with the mentality that I was not someone anyone would want. To this day I still do the fight or flight method of coping. After reading this chapter, I took a deep breath. Now I was ready to take my life back. I dont want to be that little scared girl anymore. I want to be strong and depend on God to give me courage. Yes fear controlled my life because I allowed it to. The author gives wonderful illustrations of how to overcome fear and regain the life you were given.

Another chapter I really liked was about Age doesnt matter(unless you are cheese). This one chapter hit me hard. I had always wanted to be a teacher. I never had the opportunity to go to college, so that dream was shoved aside. I started working at a library that was in conjunction with a college. I loved my job but I still yearned to be a teacher. One day I decided I needed to prove to myself that I was smart and that I could go to college. So at the age of well I was older than all the students, I made it into college. It was overwhelming at first, but I thrived in learning . During this period I was appointed Childrens Pastor at our church. What an humbling experience it was. I then realized that I did fulfill my dream. I was a teacher of many, not just a classroom but of all the children that came to church every week. You are never to old to follow your dream. I learned that by teaching these children, I was beginning to heal from my childhood. God placed me with these children to show them love and letting them know they can overcome whatever is holding them back from their destiny.

I have loved every moment I have spent reading this book. The author touches on subjects that are life changing and shows us how to get unstuck. Are you tired of being stuck and feeling hopeless? I recommended that you grab a copy of this book and let Gods voice lead you to freedom.

We are all gifted in one way or another . Its what we do with those gifts that determine everything.

I received a copy of this book from Celebreate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Life is filled with unfulfilled dreams by many due to getting stuck in a position or recalling words from earlier childhood that keeps an individual from fulfilling their heart's desire. Chris Dupre addresses this issue beautifully in his latest book, UnStuck. This book is written in an easy to read format with examples of well known individuals throughout history with scriptural promises to overcome the negatives and moving forward with positive characteristics with God's amazing grace and second chances He gives to all that calls on His Name. Think about Walt Disney and all his rejections, over three hundred of them, before he saw his dream fulfilled. He didn't allow the previous rejections keep him from fulfilling his dream. There are Biblical characters that felt rejection before they were mightily used of God, but they never gave up or became stuck in their calling. One quote from this amazing book that stood out is: "The problem for many today is that we expect the fulfillment of our dreams to come just as easily as posting our latest picture on Facebook." Dreams are fulfilled with integrity, never giving up, hard work, following your heart's desire and God's leading for your life with fortitude, determination, prayers, and commitment. I highly recommend UnStuck to individuals who are feeling stuck with their current position and move forward to fulfillment their broken dreams and heart desires with God leading the way.

I received a complimentary copy of UnStuck from the publisher, Whitaker House, for the tour with Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write a favorite review but have expressed by sincere thoughts.

I can't thank Mr. Dupre enough for pointing me to the truth of the Scripture in such a clear, simple, and practical way in the area of being plain stuck spiritually. What a blessing and encouragement to my soul this book was, and all because he centered around truth of the Bible and how to apply it. I tend to be someone who lives in fear- I totally understood him when he was talking about that fear that paralyzes you before you can speak or move. I have the fear of rejection which is why I tend to be a people pleaser over pleasing God. Comparing my journey to others families is so easy to do with social media nowadays, and pride I think is a stumbling block for us all if we're honest. I was encouraged to listen for the voice of God and take that leap when He calls me to do something, the "out of the box" moments when my fear of rejection or failure tend to make me stand on the sidelines. One thing I really liked in the book was that "you can't go around fear, you have to go through it." It acknowledged the fact that fear is a reality in our lives, but God is greater still than all that fear and He will help us walk through it and uphold us. The importance of our personal creativity, and being reminded of our identity in Christ is so important to understanding how the Lord wants to use our gifts to glorify Himself. The story telling Mr. Dupre included at the beginning of the chapter about different icons in culture or personal anecdotes really helped me to fully understand the concepts he was trying to get through in that chapter. I would recommend this read to any Christian who is hiding, feels like a failure, or just needs encouragement to be who God created them to be! It's an easy read that's full of truth! Don't miss out!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, and all opinions given are my own.

This is a good book of encouragement for people who know they are stuck but want to find a pathway through to freedom of ministry. It is easy to get stuck in our spiritual life and Dupre covers many areas, like fear, rejection, feeling too young or too old. One surprise place we get stuck is our own personality. Dupre reminds us how important it is to see ourselves as we really are. Dupre suggests many keys to get through the stuck areas. A surprise for me was humility.

Dupre has given us a very readable book. He gives many illustrations of his teaching from his own life and the lives of others, including biblical characters. This book would appeal to readers who enjoy lots of stories given as examples for living life as God has designed. You'll find good encouragement and many ideas to help you through the areas holding you back.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.
