As a member of what I guess is called the clergy I feel the best place to start here is to warn parents with children that are very young this might not be the movie for family movie night.

Kirk Cameron would have been a bit wiser to have thought this one through a bit longer than he did,its my opinion that it was produced from an angle of his personal lens and view of his world and not ours particularly and though this was his prerogative to have had this movie filmed in this manner I somehow get the idea the Kirk was rightfully sheltered in his time in the mainstream media world.

It has already been addressed that the answer to the question of the reason of suffering and God's place in suffering was certainly not answered with this movie.

I personally did not grow up in what people would call a Christian household it was far from that I have met many people who lived sheltered lives in Christian homes where church was a weekly event of multiple days attended during the week my opinion is that most people like this that I've met are quite naive to what goes on in the world around them not to mention that they also seem to have a misinterpretation of what their Bibles have to offer in the way of truth.

This is why I believe the wrong question to be asking is "why does God allow so much suffering",the better question to ask would be "why are people suffering, and why do we as the human race stand by and allow it to happen all while asking why God is allowing it to happen?"

I hate being negative but I can not really say I would suggest this movie for a family setting not to mention those who are even adult Christians,Kirk Cameron has done better and could have done better than this film.

It was a heavy subject. He approached it well.
