I have really enjoyed this devotional. I ended up reading some of the days a few times over. This would make a great gift of encouragement to somebody going through a rough patch. It was very encouraging and uplifting. Some days the truth hurt a little more than other days. I would recommend this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review through booklookbloggers but my opinion is my own.

Unshakable is a new 365 day devotional from celebrated speaker and writer Christine Caine.

It is of decent size and hardcover.

The colors are rich and vibrant. They give me the feeling of being relaxed at the beach.

Each day starts off with a Bible verse before it selves into a short (no more than a couple paragraphs) devotional. It ends with a payer prompt of sorts. Nothing dramatically different from most other devotionals. The only difference is that you get small glimpses into different experiences of Caines. She tells short stories that relate to that days devotional.

So my personal opinion is that you will be most interested if you are familiar with and already a fan of Christine Caines writing. I personally have not found anything extraordinary about this devotional thus far.

Id give it Out of .

Its not a top devotional on my list of recommendations.

    {FYI; I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.}

" ... if we have Christ in us - if we have the kingdom of God within us - because with Christ and in Christ, we can have unshakeable faith," Christine Caine writes in the introduction to her book, Unshakeable: 365 Devotions for Finding Unwavering Strength in God's Word.

    ~ What ~

At four-hundred pages, this hardbound meant to be read daily throughout a year reminds readers how much God is our strength, our rock, and our shelter. Using mainly the New International Version of the Holy Bible, it also references the NLT, MSG, NKJV, NASB, AMP, ESV, and NRSV. It has an attached marker ribbon.

With each date in the year and title at the top of the page, a written Bible verse follows with several paragraphs about the stated topic. A short prayer is at the bottom of each page, and the ending includes seven lined blank pages for notes.

    ~Why ~

This book would be good for those who need encouragement in their daily walk with Christ as they focus on having a faith in God that is impossible to change, shake, or beat down. I like the shortness of the day's reading. Another plus is that both Old and New Testament verses are provided. Having a prayer helps end the devotion.

    ~ Why Not ~

Those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as their savior may not appreciate this book. With about a quarter of the daily readings containing personal experiences and opinions of the author, the book may not be something for those who only want a devotional about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. A devotional should not take the place of reading the Scriptures on an ongoing basis.

    ~ Wish ~

I have issues with devotionals that mention the author's personal information such as this one that discusses her being adopted, having knee surgery, buying a flashlight for her daughter, ordering an egg cracker, traveling internationally, and having a miscarriage to name a few subjects. I know this is her way of correlating the topic to the Bible. However, to me, the book becomes the writer's personal journal or devotional, so I find it hard to relate it to my relationship with Christ. I wish it were centered on more Bible instead of one's viewpoint.

    ~ Want ~

If you like devotionals that contain an individual's perspective, this may be of interest to you, but I am sorry, I find this one detracts from my daily Scripture reading.

Thanks to BookLookBloggers for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.

Christine Caine knows that everything in our world that can be shaken will be shaken. The Bible tells us this is so. (See Hebrews 12:27.) But if our faith is firm, if it is planted in God and His Word, we will come through the shaking victoriously, revealing through our lives the faithfulness of our God.

Unshakeable is Caine's offering of inspiration and empowerment to readers who want to stand strong. The book is beautiful, a sturdy hardcover with a ribbon bookmark. Following a brief introduction, it gives readers 365 daily devotions on this theme of not being shaken when hard times come. Each devotional starts with Scripture, is followed by Caine's thoughts about it, and ends with a brief prayer. The devotionals follow the theme of Caine's previous books: Unstoppable, Undaunted, and Unashamed.

If you are looking for a bit of food for thought to savor each day through 2018 alongside your daily Bible reading, Unshakeable may help meet this need. I thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for sending me a complimentary copy, so that I could share my thoughts about it with you.
